every time I have seen him play for stoke or ireland been very poor, works hard and that's about it, would have gone for antonio at forest
Forest accept 7 Million pound bid from West Ham for Antonio. Hopefully that's him off our rumor list.
QUOTE="DHCanary, post: 8322424, member: 1000252"]If Walters is available for £2-3m, him plus Mbokani with Grabban to Bournemouth, Lafferty to Wednesday and Hooper to Fulham, would do me nicely on the striking front. Might be nice to keep Hooper, but RvW seems to be harder to shift. Doing that business would probably leave us with more money and a smaller wage bill than we started with, and would hopefully allow us to get one of these decent CBs we've been supposedly chasing.[/QUOTE] And, you know what? If all of that comes to fruition, I shall be sooo happy I'm going to snog you ( )
Januzaj loaned to Dortmund. After links to Sunderland, at least he won't be helping one of our competitors.
No news STILL on the Mbokani front, if he fails his medical or deal falls through we're ****ed. This whole transfer window has been a complete farce with regard to NCFC, bidding stupid amounts for alleged targets (if indeed we've made any serious bids at all), twenty-four hours to go a complete **** up. Three bloody months McNally's had to fill two important positions to ensure we have a realistic chance of survival and it hasn't happened. Anyone who we bring in now will not have been our first, second or even third choice IMO, sorry can't defend McNally on this one. He's paid a King's ransom and it's not as if the club are short of a bob or two, not happy.
I have to say that I'm inclined to agree with you up to a point. I think we should have gambled a bit on tempting some better players to grace the Carrow road pitch. I would like to add that AN has said that he was finding it difficult to attract players and we don't know whether that was to do with wages or they just didn't fancy playing for us!!!
I think that is because we are not seen as a "money club". I would also imagine that foreign players would find it hard to find our fine city on a map so we don't have either the financial appeal nor the bright lights allure that the big cities have.
A bit harsh mate. We have been linked with Mbokani for a long while and I don't think ' silly offers' was the cause of the delay nor has it been evident in the pursuit of Afobe or Walters. Most of the other decent players we have been linked with have either gone to or been linked with more attractive Clubs like Southampton and West Ham and a lot of the rumours have been just that. I would agree, however, that unless something decent happens in the next 24 hours we could be in s**t street!!!
The 3 outward deals you mention plus RvW to Reading leaving us with the funds to up our bid for Afobe would be wonderful. If in 24 hours time we had a strike force of Walters, Afobe, Mbokani and Jerome I would be in dreamland although how the hell we would keep them all happy is another matter! Having said all that I still think we need a specialist defender as well.
I think we'll see one of them join. But only one - and hopefully a classy CB to complement Bassong and Martin . I'll sleep far easier if / when we get reinforcements up front and at the back. That it will likely cost more than they may have budgeted for, well I'm sorry, but you've had since May 25th, play-off final day, to identify and pursue potential targets. OK, Lambert could afford to set his sights lower, bringing lower league players through and getting it all sorted early on in the window, but the longer it drags on, the more you get ripped off right at the end.
I would be quite happy with Mbokani, Afobe and Jerome with Loza as emergency support. 4 out and 2 in would leave room for 2 specialist defenders who need not be big money buys.
Agree with both of those. Walters would be a good fit with AN's tactical approach. Things may be happening now as Reading are said to be interested in signing RvW!
Medicals can take up to two days, we've got until 6pm tomorrow and Mbokani's in the country with everything supposedly agreed. There's no point rushing to complete the medical just so we can appease fans. It makes sense to do everything as thoroughly as possible, if that means it gets agreed very late, fair enough. By the sounds of it there's interest in all the strikers we're looking to shift then, which is good. I suspect most of that will be sorted in the loan window though.
At least he knows this is a lovely area to live - he probably lived in Norfolk when he played for the binners!! On top of that Wes and Brady have got used to playing with him - excuse the expression - with the ROI. Won't drain the transfer budget too much either.
