Oh hang on...we always USED to beat West Brom. Great start to the season...Pulis Out Er...sorry about that..Hughes Out. At least in my house I have clean sheets.
stoke were robbed, it was never a red (the first one). Stoke would have won with ease otherwise.......sub standard ref yet again change the course of the game and robs the better side.....It is about time the FA did something about bad refs and relegated them to non league....They are spoiling the game far too often now...
We played well again though Nicky. I thought they were not great and even when down to 9 men we seemed most likely to score. I believe it will come right. I want to win, but when we lose I'd prefer we played like we did today rather than just defend all game.
soft decisions rather than bad ones, slapping someone around the face is a red, ref doesn't really have an option with that one, and it did look like Adam trod (rather than stamp) on his leg on purpose, very soft reds for sure, but absolving the players of blame isn't really fair. The two reds in Liverpool v West Ham were a joke, I'm not even sure what Noble is supposed to have done.
we battered them for the first 20 minutes, if we had kept 11 men on the pitch we would have won by 3 goals. I havent got a problem with the first red card but if you send our player off the West Brom player had to go too. We were the better team with only 9 men and that says a lot.
Agree with your summary. It was my first visit to the Brit this season. I am very impressed with Butland and Bego will not be missed. If Afelley was a red then Gardner should also have had one. Adam was a little unlucky but he need not have placed his leg on the Albion player thus giving the ref a decision to make. The two reds ended the game as a contest unfortunately but how well we responded when down to 9 men. It's a pity we conceded in first half stoppage but 2nd half we did well to prevent them adding to the score and with a bit of luck might have equalised. West Brom, in all honesty were not very good. I can see them struggling.
