So having had too many strikers we now appear to have: Jerome Ricky (Injured and gambling) Lafferty Sensational.
BBC say Walters "refused to be drawn" on speculation linking him to us. Well he was hardly going to say he was on the way!
£6 million for Grabban?!? We should take the money, use £10,000 to buy a replacement of similar quality and add the rest to our efforts to bring in Afobe and a quality CB.
I think with the number we have been linked too so far, that 2 may have been the target all along, although I suspect it was Hooper earmarked to go 1st...
Mirror reckon it's £14m for Afobe: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/norwich-transfers-benik-afobe-given-6317771 Also, that private jet mentioned before is perhaps linked to Alex Neil scouting at the Marseille - Troyes game. Marseille won 6-0 and Batshuayi scored two. He was probably looking at the Troyes striker....
How about £8m + Grabban, if he's that desperate to go? I know it won't happen as it appears he wants to go back to Bournemouth etc, however I'd prefer not to sell to a rival for 17th spot as you know he would score a hat full for them. But I can dream!
Seems like this striker hunt is stepping up. Charlie Wyett tweeted saying Hoopers loan move will be completed tomorrow to Sheffield Wednesday despite the Grabban incident. Grabban surely won't wear a Norwich shirt again. I can only imagine we've made some sort of progress on the striker hunt by letting Hooper go. If it we end up signing Batshuayi I have to say that would be some signing. I do rate Afobe but not sure £14 million is a price we should meet for him. Plus we've got Ricky back in contention who'll obviously add probably 50-60 goals for us this season On a serious note, fair play to Ricky. He seems to have worked hard this summer, when he could have easily done a Grabban. Pleased for him and hope it gives him the confidence to kick on. Surely he will get a chance on the bench at the weekend. Also definitely worth listening to Canary Call, the stories of Ricky's charitable side were hilarious.
That's really worrying. That would be a worry in the Championship. Can't see Wolves breaking on Afobe. If you add Murray to that list, it doesn't make it too much better.....Can't believe Hooper hasn't been called back in the mist of AN golden boy going AWOL.
I thought he played quiite well against Wet Sham and he was unlucky with his 1-on-1, when he was denied by the keeper's boot.
Grabban - not just a poor finisher, a total berk too. Take the ludicrous £6m on offer and run for the hills before Bournemouth realise they've been 'had'.
I have never rated Grabban with regards to quality but I think Neil liked his work rate and pace. The chance missed the other week in my eyes was because he refused to use his left foot.......... if he had done so I think he would have slid the ball into the net. Anyway, get rid, £5m+ in the kitty and get him off the wage bill. I don't like the idea of selling to a "rival" but if I don't think hes good enough for us then I don't mind. If it also means we can approach new targets then I am all for it.
On a positive note, after our club gets dragged through the mud, Walters sounds like he doesn't feel valued at Stoke and this is basically a "make me feel loved" plea. We are now arguably two forwards short and I definitely think he could do a job, so let's give him so love! http://www.teamtalk.com/norwich-city/9966257/- Then we just need to find A N Ofobe striker (still dreaming...) I actually think, though, having a forward selection of Jerome, Walters and RvW could well carry us through til January and we would only need to look at another striker then.
