I was doing a bit of research in my post above so missed this - I ruled him out as too good for us! He would be a very good signing I think
Surely not! He's awesome! This would be up there with the Quintero rumor, surely wishful thinking! He does fit the mould we are looking for perfectly. Surely out of our reach again, that type of player. Played 3, Scored 2, 1 assist. They wouldn't sell him, and he wouldn't drop down to us.Only way I could have seen it is if he wasn't playing and we could get a loan of him.
Looks like we'd struggle to get Batshuayi... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-plot-transfer-michy-batshuayi-6060513 http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...shuayi-Spurs-Aston-Villa-Transfer-News-Gossip http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...-striker-Michy-Batshuayi-REJECTS-Swansea-move
This is beginning to defy logic unless things are going on that we know nothing about. The reality is that only playing one up top we only need 3 strikers plus Loza in the squad or 4 if we don't intend to use Loza. We already have 5 in a squad that already numbers one more than we are allowed. If we sign another striker 2 or 3 have got to go. We can't possibly let Jerome go and AN is not interested in selling Grabban. Lafferty is injured which makes him difficult to sell which leaves Hooper and RvW who will be difficult to shift because of their wages. In my humble opinion we will be buying nobody unless we can shift Hooper and RvW. As I say I just hope that a lot is going on behind the scenes as I think we are one step away from a disaster if Jerome gets injured and we have the current squad.
I tend to agree that we need to move on some of the strikers, as AN certainly seems to prefer starting with just one. It would also reduce our wage bill by a significant amount.
I guess Swansea and Villa have signed the Ayew brothers, so if Bashuayi's situation has changed they might no longer be interested, but obviously no way we'd be able to compete with Spurs. I can't see there being much mileage in this to be honest, even if the flight did happen.
If he gets someone in, he may well let him go. Don't blame him for fobbing off any attempts before getting a replacement first.
it looks to me as if grabban will go to bournmouth and we will sign murray, bit underwhelming but proved himself in prem and would be a good back up for Jerome.
Haven't Tottenham signed a French striker recently too? I agree with you (and everyone else) I suspect this is just flight of fancy unfortunately...
Clinton N'Jie. I'd thought he was a young prospect and not someone who they were planning on using a lot, but they've apparently spent nearly £10m on him, so perhaps he is a more significant signing than I was bargaining on. Still can't see this rumour being true though.
That would leave us with Jerome, Murray, Hooper, RvW and Lafferty - can't see that is better than what we have got and still leaves us 1 or 2 too many in the striker department including 2 on a combined salary of £72k a week who, at best, would be 3rd and 4th choice. Can't see that happening.
so without trying to sound pedantic if neil wont sell grabban to a rival, where is he going ? nowhere cos he sure as hell is not good enough for the top prem clubsand he wont want to drop to championship,so that leaves hooper to go....
I genuinely don't think he wants to sell Grabban who he clearly rates. I imagine he wants to sell Hooper, Lafferty and RvW to provide funds and room in the wage budget to bring in another striker but what he wants and what he can do could be 2 different things. I do accept that there are undoubtedly things going on in the background that we don't know about but I cannot see how it is possible to buy without selling.
5 million for a 31 year old with a grand total of 8 goals in 33 appearances would be disappointing, Murray gets **** loads of yellow cards too and is not the quickest of players.
Yep. I think Murray offers even less than Grabban. Especially at five mil. If we're going to throw away £5m we should do it topping up the fee we've offered for Afobe because at least any massive overpayment there we might recoup
Yeah, to be honest. I am starting to get exhausted. I've no doubt tomorrow the Dwight Gayle rumour will be doing the rounds.... rinse and repeat until the end of transfer window.
If we're really interested in Murray for £5M that's insane. McNally might as well piss the money down the drain, ****ing ridiculous IMO, madness.
....... in other news and just to show what we're competing against in this league, Man Utd have reportedly bid £140M for Neymar !
