Just looked at the Hammers new stadium and without sounding like 'sour grapes' ........... I really wouldn't want us to have it for one very good reason.

We and many clubs would never fill it so the overall experience of fans being together would be quite hollow.
I know when league clubs here in Oz play one of their 'home' games away from their local ground, unless it is a sellout, the atmosphere at the big stadiums are really poor to say the least.

Yes, they have all the lovely new amenities and so on and good luck to them but after a short period of time, if you were to ask Hammers fans, what do they really think of it .............. their replies may vary.

Your thoughts?

Let´s wait and see what ´Big Yawn´ has to say about it, he´ll be on here soon unless he´s posting about tumbleweeds on his own board.

My old man told me about watching the R's when we played a season at the old White City stadium in the 60's I think. Said it was awful as the pitch was so far away from the stands and not the best atmosphere.

I can see it being similar.

I was at the stadium a few weeks ago watching the para games. The infrastructure behind the stands is disappointing. It's not properly enclosed and has steel railings surrounding it. I think I was expecting it to be more like Wembley. Now that's a proper stadium. It's just a shame that it appears that Chelsea will be taking up residency there for a few years.

I think it was meant to be temporary, part of the 'sustainable legacy' bullshit that was part of the bid. Great, great few weeks in 2012 though.

West Ham has only contributed £15m towards the £272m conversion costs of the Olympic Stadium, with the tax payer footing the rest of the bill.

How has that been allowed?
