QPR roar back to stun Wolves - report

QPR came roaring back from two goals down to win 3-2 against Wolves at Molineux on Wednesday as Chris Ramsey's men got their first win of the season in fine style.


A game to sum up the Championship and Queens Park Rangers. A madcap affair that shows why you should never bet on the former and you can't take your eyes off the latter. A lovely, beautiful nonsense.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were meant to be the sure thing on the Wednesday coupon. A settled team, fancied for promotion, comfortable in its skin after two successful years playing together – they are, as the LFW match preview put it, everything QPR are not.

Rangers arrived in a state of flux. Players going out, players coming in, players who are supposed to be leaving still here for one reason or another, players who are supposed to be arriving crawling towards the done deal line through a myriad of complications and excessive financial demands. One point from two league games, a two goal lead blown in the first home match of the campaign, pressure already building on head coach Chris Ramsey.

In the absence of any other match report I actually read that. Strange, he clearly has a man-crush on Ramsey or Les or someone, very positive with some reining in of the usual florid style.

I'll see for myself on Saturday. I've heard conflicting reports about Chery, will be interesting.

I think you'll like Chery. He looks like your kind of player to me.

Luongo certainly seems a much better player further forward. He was pants in the holding role with Henry, but much better when pushed forward. Looks like he played really well against Wolves, along with Chery and Phillips, all interchanging positions behind Austin.

Let's assume that we don't get rid of Fer, on the little we have seen would you play him ahead of any of those 3?
 
Good write up for us who haven't seen the game. Good to read we seem to be developing some decent play going forward.
 
Luongo's performance against Cardiff was so far removed from the domineering role that is reported here that I can only assume that he is actually Dr Jekyll in disguise. Or could it be that a certain Mr Faurlin provides the platform that allows other midfielders to look good?

Luongo started the Cardiff game in a defensive role which didn't seem to suit him. He looked better playing further forward when Doughty came on. An attacking midfield three of Chery, Luongo and Phillips with Faurlin and Doughty holding will give most Championship sides a lot of trouble.
