IIRC he was absolutely sensational in the first half of the season when Forest were playing brilliantly, but tailed off a little. He probably would be worth a punt for a decent fee, although I'd also be sceptical about £6m especially PLUS Bennett who has got to be worth close to £1m on his own (though that would shift wages...)

The thing I don't get is I though Antonio plays on the left, so he wouldn't be a Redmond replacement?

Can understand there being a little disappointment I suppose but can't say I share in it. I've found this one of our more entertaining transfer windows and for once we are heavily up there on the rumours and gossip pages, which has kept the summer months ticking over.

If we weren't to get anyone else in wouldn't be too unhappy. Firstly I don't think the team Hughton took down were anywhere near as bad as his tactics led them to appear. I still have a lot of confidence in that team given the right manager, motivation and tactics. And in AN, seems we couldn't ask for more. Secondly, I think in the first season back, particularly after the run he has had and the way the team has played for him, to replace much more than he has would be unfair and counter productive. Lastly, we've had a really strong start to the season and for me looked completely at home, could've and probably should've won both games.

Wouldn't mind a CB, but then I then I forget that Wisdom can fill in there, apparently to a good standard.

Antonio would be a good signing I'd have thought, certainly seems one who can make the step up.

And then the elusive new number 9. I didn't really want one, but now that we've left the shirt free we'll have to fill it, or look a bit silly. Still Mbokani for me but that one seems to have gone quite.

Hmmm...I wish people would stop going on about Redmond leaving! We can't let that happen. Not this season.

Nothing you can do about it if the right Club comes in with a big bid and accidentally mentioning to his agent that it would double his salary.

Yea, I suppose that's a good point, as long as it it back up to Redmond, rather than replacement. It's a Shame for Elliott, he seems like a good player, just hasn't played enough. He is definitely out of favor, so If it's an exchange then he must be better than Bennett if it's that much money on top of the player.

I'd be annoyed if he moved on, he will play every game in the Premier League this season. As long as he's fit. If he plays a staring role for us this season, it would be more understandable if a big club came in, and he wanted to move on. Whether we stayed up or not. I'd like to think he enjoys it here.

Would he be a back up to Redders though? I'm fairly sure he's a left winger and we're hardly going to splash £6m plus on someone to bench?

Cant Play Olsson, Brady and Antonio down the left hand side though. Pretty sure he can play left, but think he's a right winger. He's right footed.

Burnley stumped up 9 Million for Andre Gray, to snatch him away from Bristol City et al. Very good signing for Burnley, and a much better fit for Gray.

A point that I have been making for a while. We have lots of solid squad players - anyone we sign now will have to be someone who will go straight into the starting eleven. Unfortunately we are in the market for a striker and good ones cost a lot of money both in transfer fees and wages neither of which we can afford unless we can sell 2 or 3 high earners for good money and at the moment this seems unlikely. When you see strikers who have never played higher than the Championship fetching £8-10m you have to understand the problems AN and DM face.

Ah, didn't realise he was right-footed, thanks. I suppose that's why he scored a hatful of goals cutting in off the left wing.

This is certainly a lot of money, especially when you consider they lost their biggest asset last season Ings to Liverpool for relative peanuts so it's not as if they have a massive budget to burn.

Yea, it's a hell of a lot isn't it, but this if football now unfortunately. Burnley have last years money plus parachute, also they have lost a few players, so got their transfer money. He looks a beast and a goalscorer. I think it's a good buy.

From a quick look at a nameless website that lists the transfer fees players went for, they spent £8.8m over the whole of last season. Mental to now splash more than that on one player.

Ooooh. Just seen QPR signed Alex Smithies from Hudders. What a buy! Looks like the rumors linking Green back to West Ham are probably true!

Get £20m for Redmond, replace him for £6m plus Bennett , sell RvW and Turner for, say, £6m - don't ask me who to - add in the, say, £5m in the transfer kitty and we are then in the game for a good striker. Sound attractive?

Shows how big it is for clubs to go straight back up after relegation. They haven't exactly hit the ground running.
