Funny how quickly things develop though, Bale was a ****ing joke then all of sudden the most expensive player ever. Not saying Moreno will get to that level but I'm quite excited to see him given that LF type role a proper go - the guy has got a bursting run on him
But Moreno is no Left Back either. His concentration is poor and we've seen that he has lost the man he's supposed to be marking, which is sort of important for a defender. He's got the pace, the ability to run at defenders and score a goal at the end of it, all the things needed for a left winger (In fact I believe that LW is far more about pace and running defenders than any other position). So why not use him their, would save us looking for a new forward player, who tend to be expensive. As good as Bale... well of course not, there is a few years between them and Moreno has barely been used as a winger. But who knows, Moreno could take to the position in the same way as Bale has. I guess the original point was that Moreno could be a similar case to Bale, thought of as left back when young, **** at it, moved forward and it works out.... fingers crossed.
Are we judging Moreno based on 1 poor season in a new league, new country and playing under one of the worst defensive coaches in the country? Anyone doubting his ability needs to watch him for Sevilla where he was very good where he played well domestically and in the Europa League, and it's why he's expected to challenge for a starting place in the Spanish NT. He is a left back - a raw but talented one who needs coaching. If he focused purely on defending and not advancing, would he be any different to Gomez? It's easier to defend and hold position when you're not expected to run forward.
He may have both. Seriously though. I was always freaked out by the size of his nipples poking through his spurs shirt when he played against us. You couldn't see anyone else's nipple but his were huge.

By all means raise his resale value, but don't make his wage more than most would be willing to pay him.
