A lot of people suggesting he's had a good game, but think you're right in the sense he's not a goal scorer. Reza sounded lively before he got injured. That will invite the lightweight comments.

Good point overall. It's a shame we couldn't convert our first half pressure. Do we dip in to the market for a creative left winger and/or a striker?

Regarding Makienok, I claim first rights to the phrase "the new Leaburn", which I used after the Welling game about the streak of p1ss.

He is destined to be our next marmite player - he has everything in his game apart from goals and aerial ability.

If Watt gets injured or suspended, where are the goals coming from ?

I didn't go last night but I heard that Simon had a good game. But he is there to score goals and he missed a couple of easy chances. With Igor still a long way from being fit and Watt not firing last night we still need some firepower. I can't think of who is available who would improve us, but there must be someone out there.

If we are creating chances but not converting them, it is obvious where the priority lies. Besides, we did not buy Bergdych to sit on the bench. Give him a chance before writing him off.

I didn't write him off, but he's predominately a LB who Luzon possibly see's as a winger. With Harriott out of favour, and Cebellos seemingly (horribly) out of position, it may be a route we go down.

The general consensus from the people who went was he played well and caused them the most problems. I think we need to give him a few more games before writing him off.

Only one solution in my view; pay whatever it takes to get Yann back from Bournemouth; he is not first choice, and reports suggest that Defoe may go there. Not a question of 'will he' he would make the difference and score from opportunities that are currently being missed. He would be the difference between a mid-table position, and being a certainty for the play-offs' Pay whatever it takes, and quickly.....

Problem I hear is that Doucébag doesn't like hearing people say "I TOLD YOU SO!" If he brings back Yann the Man from AFC Bournemouth, it's admitting that he was stupid for letting him go, and his impressions about him not being "good enough" was incorrect.

I'd have Yann back by the way. Him and Watt/Igor would make an awesome paring.

It has been confirmed by a very credible source that we are signing 3 players from Bournemouth, and that one of them is indeed Yann. I reckon the other two are Max Gradel & Sylvian Distin.

we were actually in for gradel last year i believe.

as for yann, i think that ship has sailed. we shouldnt go back because I think simon will come good. Yann will only have aged, lost a bit of pace (like jacko) and it will ruin our memories of him if he comes back and is sh1te.

It was the way that Kermorgant left that made me bitter and malicious, but I am inclined to agree. The guy would suffer from unreasonable expectations. Those with long memories will remember that Eddie Firmani came back for a third spell with us when he could hardly run, and worked wonders, but football was different then. Players would have fish and chips and a pint two hours before the match. Chris Powell was good in his third spell at the age of 38 but he was naturally fit. I think with Yann it is a constant battle to stay fit.
