Jinsha Lake 5/1 (Betfair + 365) Killarney 7:50 - has some nice pieces of form working out very well in relation to his last win where the next 3 after him subsequently won, he also finished ahead of Giovanni Canaletto on his debut at the back end of last season in 2nd place to a nice horse of Kevin Prendergast's called Mohaayed. It's actually a very decent contest for a Wednesday in Killarney but this should prove a tough nut to crack. Reservations about Anastasia riding against some of our top boy's but hopefully the horse is good enough, plus she takes a handy 5lb claim off.

Nothing I fancy too strongly at York, if they all turn up then I will look forward to seeing the big clash in the Juddmonte...but that remains to be seen with the inclement weather.

Pedigrees are never definitive in things like that though. Look at their running actions, that's where you'll see. They are completely different. Gleneagles barely hits the ground, whereas she'd a high knee action going on.

Gleneagles is a mudlark plodder, they just dont want us to find out.

Coolmore entered in a maiden and the Debutante at the Curragh this weekend.

I always go on action as well, and as such have learned that it can also be very deceiving and dangerous to take for granted, Dandino a good example.
 
Dutch masterpiece 155 York currently 10/1 cracking ew bet won't mind the soft ground and without doubt has one of the best flat jockeys about at the moment Pat smullen on board hopefully this will make me a nice packet .......£pony ew (that's £25 ew to the uneducated lol) ;)
 
Gleneagles travels this morning but decision to be made after walking the course or after Joseph rides in the opener.

Hope I'm wrong but I can't see him running if it stays good to soft. Fingers crossed York gets good drying weather this morn.

Hard to see where he can run except the Breeders’ Cup Mile. It is unlikely to be fast ground for the Prix Moulin (they kidded themselves that it was going to be quick at Deauville for the Prix Jacques le Marois before opting for York), unlikely to be fast ground for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on the joke that is Champions’ Day; and I suspect there is not much chance of fast ground for the Irish Champion Stakes either. Listen, Wooly, he is the best miler Aidan has ever trained.

The races at York did get a mention on the BBC Radio 5 Live Sports News this morning, although it has to be said that the mention was that the anticipated clash between the Classic winners was unlikely to happen as Gleneagles would probably not run because of the rain softened ground. I see on Oddschecker that he is now out to 11/2.
 
Surely the match is on ((and I include TT in that) .. no rain forecast until much later this evening ... its got to be on else THE LADS will look a bit daft ??
 
The first race of the Ebor meeting could turn out to be a bookies’ benefit. I note that half of the field ran over six furlongs last time and now drop to five, so definitely one to avoid.

The Acomb Stakes has a habit of throwing up some decent two-year-olds but this year’s field does not look exceptional and I think Kevin Ryan’s MOHAB should be on the premises after trotting up in a poor Catterick maiden.

The Great Voltigeur features a clash of two interesting form lines: the Irish Derby and the Grand Prix de Paris. Quite where the pace is going to come from is hard to tell. Aloft and Bondi Beach both drop back in trip after winning stayers’ races last time, whilst stablemate GIOVANNI CANALETTO had a remote view of Jack Hobbs at The Curragh and was not mentioned in the run up to this race. Storm The Stars and Balios followed home Erupt at Longchamp. Medrano was well beaten in a Group 3 last time. Supplemented Tashaar has plenty to find on the book after readily accounting for Rhythmical in a Goodwood handicap, although the runner-up let the form down last weekend.

The Juddmonte International has been advertised as a match; however, if there is going to be a long-priced upset, as this race is famous for, the Kiwi visitor Criterion could be it. The Grey Gatsby has been finding at least one too good all season and just like last year’s renewal he could do again. I think that the Wiltshire County Set will be choking on their paprika Pringles as Time Test would need to make an enormous step up to win this if the favourite runs to form. So as I think that Gleneagles is a miler this will go to Derby winner Golden Horn with The Grey Gatsby for the forecast.

Both of the final two races look made for the bookies and are easily passed over.
