How dare he keep faith with the team that won away at Stoke!

Personally I'm a bit disappointed that we won't get to see Firmino starting, but I can't really fault Rodgers for sticking to the same team if Can & Firmino aren't fully fit.

I think calling him 'clueless' & other such insults is miles over the top though.

Look... Every side needs a scapegoat... Glenjo left... Lala is given the crown. If he left then Allen would be crowned king.

It's just how the game works... Now be quiet and let us moan... <laugh><cheers>

Allen is already king.
You should bow down to him <grr>

I understand not starting Firmino.

Can may have fitness issues.

But there is no excuse to not have Sakho on the bench, let alone not starting.

Maybe he's not trained an awful lot due to baby and hasn't been getting much sleep and isn't mentally fit?

Yep a team that looked solid at the back but disjointed in midfield with an isolated striker who managed barely a shot at goal. So disjointed were they that most neutrals felt it was very even at 0-0 until rodgers changed the system to allow us to attack and even then it took a worldie from Ford (who rodgers was about to sub) in order for us to scrape a win.

yeah whats wrong with keeping faith with that team?

He's been training for the past 2 weeks and made himself available against Stoke.

Henderson and Allen both had children not long ago and both were selected straight away.

Will be surprised if Sakho stays beyond this transfer window.

But it was a set up which failed for large parts of the match, bailed out by a moment of brilliance by our best player.

It was a set up that was solid and kept a clean sheet against a tough Stoke side that battered us last year <ok>

Maybe in training he hasn't look up for it?

That's fair mate - I mentioned before that Can may not be fully fit so I can understand for sticking with the midfield 2 but I really don't like.

Disjointed in midfield? Think we were watching a different game, we were solid. The most solid we've looked in midfield than we did all last season.

The attacking wasn't quite there but not many teams will go to Stoke, look that solid and create 100's of chances.

Mark my words, a 1-0 away win at Stoke won't happen too often this season.

How long did Firmino get last game? Fully expect him to get 10 more minutes this time round and then he'll be a starter from the next game (or at the latest the one after)

Easing him in gently, is good management. Imagine the uproar from people if he started against Stoke and got a knock because he wasn't quite ready. Patience lads, he'll be a starter before we know it.

What's Can's deal then? He hasn't given birth. Looked fit against Stoke (changed the game against Stoke).

Doesn't look like fitness looks like a preference issue for BR. Wonder why he doesn't rate him good enough to start?

Didn't realise Boruc was their keeper. Still remember the free kick he saved from Gerrard when Southampton won at Anfield year before last

Full fit team, yes Can in midfield 3 with Hendo & Milner with Coutinho/Firmino supporting Benteke.
But clearly they aren't fit yet so no point bashing the manager for sticking with something that's not broken.

Sakho, who knows... but Lovren doesn't deserve to be dropped after his performance.

Admire the excuses but let's face it - Lovren is Rodgers's main defender and was always going to pick him.

No biggy - we move on and hope the team does well.

Not an excuse, I know as much about it as you. You throw a random accusation out in one direction, I counter it with another <ok>
