Off Topic Dark Justice - Good or Bad?

A not too controversial OT to get us back into the swing of communicating in a less brow beating but more high brow manner - of course Stan will ridicule with his intelligence and breadth of wisdom over us but us mere mortals can at least play for a while!

A confessed Anarchist, although only the cheating kind - in my head, the Group Dark Justice has got me wondering if this is dangerous stuff we are getting in to or should they be celebrated heroes?
For those not aware, there have been several successful prosecutions recently of middle aged men grooming fictitious under age children played by members of Dark Justice.
That grooming or anything of this nature with under aged children is heinous is not up for discussion - it simply is, but the following questions are asked?

How can the evidence attained by this Group be admissible in Court?
Is this the way forward? - The members of DJ did not appear salubrious characters themselves, does this not rate as entrapment?
Where are the resources for this type of crime? - Can we reasonably even demand that this era of cyber net originated crime can be policed traditionally anymore, with the resources available?

Again, have no defense for the prosecuted individuals nor any pity in these cases - it is more the question, is this acceptable now, where does it end and has anyone thought of the risks?

By default The police forces, Crown Prosecution Services along with the Courts have now set precedence - Good or Bad?

No problem with this till they start serving justice out themselves or allowing the info to go public, letting others get stuck in. Anyone can collect information, it's what is done with it that should be questioned. Have seen sites on face book posting pics of people along with what they've done. (To be fair they only do this with people that have been convicted already.) We can all be vigilant and assist the police with a matter like this but I do think it's up to the courts to hand out punishments. (Not a baying mob.)

Good answer from Quality. Seems a strange hobby to me, and it may soon be unneccessary. Read something the other day which said that older people (and employers especially) tend to be much more trusting than the yoof, 60% of whom go through life on the assumption that everybody else is out to rip them off. So the Rand Corporation's dream of a world run on Game Theory aka '**** you buddy' is coming true. Presumably if this is true they will be less susceptible to grooming. Or relationships of any sort.

Just thoroughly cheesed off with the work at the mo Stan - I'm thinking of doing a very stupid thing and swapping a great position that I have somehow blagged everyone into thinking I do a good job for an upgraded one where I know that I'll have to push myself - I know, stupid me, it's had something to do with a recent meeting with your country's favourite spin doctor, all this can do attitude is rushing back!
The slump works brilliantly for me as I'd put a 3 year plan put in place after Macondo that never materialized - this time I just had to pull the strategy from the drawer.
Think it's going to be the Pharmaceutical or Renewable Energy Worlds for me next

Hence my words on who dispenses the justice. It's cases like this that give me grave doubts about it.

Saw the documentary on this subject a while back, and I think they should be given medals.

The law is in full retreat from the streets, we have Latvian murders walking our streets without a care in the world. So yes any little helps.

But the law must work both ways, and they must answer for their mistakes if and when they happen. I rather the odd mistake and know they are out there looking out for all our kids.

Easy solution would be to contract them as a civilian work force, and train them in the art of evidence gathering. Best of both then.

Bit off topic but some interesting info that came my way...

My sister lives right in the middle of where the Alice Gross was murdered and had some interesting thought and points on the Latvian that killed her and what happened to him as well. Where her body was found would have been virtually imposable to get to without help. Where his body was found hanged was right in the middle of a very thick group bushes and trees. (She walks her dog in both places on a daily basis and it's too hard to get into the bushes to bother if your gonna commit suicide.) She made the point because in her mind it was a group of people traffickers (probably a Latvian gang as there is a lot of Latvians in that area.) She was chatting to some of Alice's friends while they were still looking for her and she was very ill with an eating disorder at the time. After some long chats, we surmised, that he could well have been trying to grab her and succeeded. While they had her, the mistreatment combined with her illness, probably killed her. Then they waited a few days and tried to bury the body at the bottom of the river Brent. (The river isn't that deep and it was on the other side from the path but deep enough to make it hard to bury a body without having help and would need someone to be look out.) Then they've dragged him to the bushes (which are not exactly far from where her body was found) and strung him up to make it look like suicide. He'd ****ed up so the gang got rid of them both. It's all supposition but it was the only thing that we could make fit all the circumstances. That what I worry about, the number of organized gangs operating like that over her. Not that I would say it has much to with the op but your comment brought it to mind and I though I'd share it.
