james may seems more the type to receive.... though hammond is a bit thick (acting) and also like the bitches in the us prison moives you see where some little guy is always the biatch.
I made sausage rolls for the family a few weeks back. They'd never had them before (closest they had was something called pigs in blankets which is hot dogs wrapped in "biscuits" a scone like bread). All the recipes I found talked about spreading Dijon mustard on inside of pastry before wrapping up sausage. I didn't remember mustard being part of sausage rolls growing up... Is that a new thing or is my memory faulty. Tasted good though.
Never had mustard on it myself but guess similar to a hot dog? pigs in blanket they have all wrong. Should be sausages wrapped in bacon!
And how have your family never had sausage roles?! Are they all yanks then? I thought you were all English and moved over there?
I got a really nice one from tesco deli little while ago. Was sweet chilli and pork in a really flakey pastry. Delicious. ate it cold but you can't beat a warm sausage roll.
My parents and siblings have obviously had sausage rolls. My wife and children never had; They've never been to Britain. Sausage rolls are like meat pies(other than chicken), clotted cream, flans, and Cornish pasties... ... They simply don't exist in America unless you make them at home yourself. Americans have never heard of them.
