There were quite a few teams linked to him and big offers quoted, the answer was still no. Maybe next year they will be ready to cash in if he doesn't sign a contract extension.
I am sort of glad in a way, Dortmund have been raped worse than Southampton over the last few seasons, they need to keep some stars if they want to stay in Europe.

Illaramendi is a good player and I would certainly have him at LFC - but he's not a ball winning type of midfielder, he's a playmaker. Him alongside someone like Can would be good but Hendo and Milner are guaranteed to start in the middle (unless Milner is shifted out wide).

Guaranteed is a strong word. We need enough bodies and competition due to Europa. When Hendo and Milner are not performing I'd expect them to be dropped and the replacements need to be good.
 
Illaramenda cost them 30million or something.

Its like this.... I don't see us getting him but he'd be a vast improvement on lucas and allen... why?

think about this... henderson is a grunt.. put a player like illaramende besdie him and the team improves. end of... thats how i see it anyway.

I can't see us even going for him as i think we've spent all our moeny and won't be able to shift anyone we have as dead wood unless an english club comes calling.

Balotelli, enrique and borini are complete wastes of space.. allen and lucas aint up to it.... toure is about for a joke or somethign i dunno... thats 6 squad places right now i'd clear given half a chance...

there is nobody willing to take ONe of thsoe never mind 3.

For each one i'd pay 20k in wages per week for rest of contracts if they were bought out form us.

come on west brom, sunderland, newcastle... pretty please... get ****ing desperate.
 
Kovacic to Madrid was being strongly talked about yesterday that a fee of £25m had been agreed. Given Madrid have made no big signings yet it seems likely.

By all accounts leaves Illara free to go, figure quoted was about £16m. Not seen huge amounts but Madrid paid 34m for him so he obviously has big talent!

Is this genuine demand or an agent trying to drum up demand?

Has sahko told his agent to start making **** up and see what comes up or is this just indicative of the demand that there is for this player... which just shows he is actually rated.

He's a top player so no surprise that CL teams are after him. At least we're not that stupid enough to let him leave on loan.
 
Its certainly possible to be genuine demand but it also says.. nobody's bidding 20mil here.

Unfortunalty he left PSG as that would be the natural bid.

I think he is worried about france spot for euros so it could be him looking for games.

if that's the case then he should sort his **** out at LFC and lock down his place as our starting CB, not be fishing for offers/compliments elsewhere

Carroll on his day can be unplayable to be fair.... Just not 35m worth but he was obviously talented. Injuries have ruined him so far though.

If if he'd have stayed at Newcastle I have no doubts he'd have a 1 in 2 record in the prem for last 3 years (baring injuries)

TBF I do rate Carroll highly. Injuries crushed him.
