Barely a couple of hours after getting tonked by City and Maureen does the only thing he knows how to do.

Excellent player, probably now has a good chance to get into your first team with the form of Ivanovic with Azpilicueta moving to right back.

We did need a left back, and he is apparantly good, so I welcome this signing. We also could do with another CB.
However, as has been pointed out, the main weak point of our squad, as I have been saying for months, is the CM role next to Matic.
We need a world class player there, and we just don't have one.
Playing Oscar there (out of position I might add) seems to be our best option right now. But I would rather he in the AM 3 alongside Hazard and Cesc. (Instead of Willian or Cuadrado)
Fabregas there is a total waste, he offers nothing defensively and is then too far behind the action to assist in an attacking fashion (and he doesn't have the pace to cover that much ground).
And, as I have explicitly stated numerous times, Mikel and Ramires (our other 2 options in that role), are just plainly ****e and need to go. (especially Mikel).

    Need to go imo:

    Cuadrado
    Mikel
    Ramires

    Need to come in:

    A CB
    A CM

We could get at least £30m for those 3 guys collectively, maybe kick in another 20m and spend £25m each on a CM and CB.
I shouldn't need to tell the people at CFC how to run this ****.

Its totally frustrating because last summer Jose immediately identified our 2 weakest postions (and playmaker and a goal scorer) and got them both signed up within a month of seasons end, no ****ing about (Fab and Costa). And we won the title.

This time around, we need less work and can get it done a lot cheaper, yet no progress seems to have been made.

Matic should not have to play alongside Donkeys like Rambo and Mikel.

    Pretty much spot on.

Cuadrado should be flogged back to Italy and Pedro brought in to replace. Khedira should have been got to play alongside Matic and that would still be a pretty much nil net outlay (save for wages). 30 million bid for Stones or Hummells (Ideal world) and ta dah squad refreshed and still a rather limited outlay compared to the mancs.

Flog a couple of fringe players, promote youth into their places and probably back to nil net spend.

That beating at City, a lucky one as it could have been 7 1 was not about a poor squad, it was about how Maureen got it tactically wrong as proven by the second half fightback that should have yielded an equaliser after a really REALLY lucky first half.

City picked ye off chasing an equaliser, it is normally the reverse with Chelsea countering while holding a lead.

Terry is a good defender,a great one but he cannot be protecting Cahill and handling Aguero. Zouma should have started alongside Terry in that game and no space left in behind them.

On another day Aguero would have taken 3 chances before the break.

That squad is good enough to get a result v City, a draw even.

This game also hilighted the dependence on Hazard and the issue of service to Costa. Hazard was very ineffective, City kept him bottled up effectively by letting him run into dead ends like Bale was dealt with actually in a few matches, and Jose neutered Fabergas who was too deep. Even Cahill Terry at the back and Zouma and matic in midfield with fabergas and Costa ahead of them down the middle would have been better but given Aguero Zouma should have paired Terry as he's imo far more athletic than Cahill and sharper and stronger. Cahill is bailed out all too often by either Terry or Ivanovic and Ivanovic is really on the downcurve. He's not reliable any more a bit like how Evra went, still good but liable against good sides when mistakes can decide games.

What Jose did last week with the doctor has no doubt distracted everyone at the club too, I think that played a significant role in this week's performance.

When Jose gets a certain way it is detrimental to the team, we seen this at Real and we have seen it last week as well, playing games is one thing but sometimes bitterness has a detrimental effect, I think it is bitterness from Jose this season so far rather than gamesmanship and distraction from the team performance.

I've noticed that when Jose is at his distraction, he's very serious and when he's just losing it, he smiles and pretends it's cool in an "I'm not mad" manner. imo anyways

Khedira is the most injury prone player about a bloody light breeze would injur him. Thank god we didn't sign him; he wouldn't be fit for a season.

A player in the Veratti mold would be an ideal signing but players like that are few and far between. I think switching formation may end up being a necessity, but I don't see why Oscar can't play there next to Matic. He is a tough guy and strong in the tackle and when the game goes through him we tend to dominate.

I agree that we need to ship out players on the bench and get better quality in as their replacements.

CB is a must. I really hope we just give Everton what they want for Stones.

Aye may well be the case. It is a shame because I don't think he'd have much trouble becoming a starter at Chelsea.

It seems pace is the issue for your Centre defence, is Stones quick - I've never really noticed?

Vidal would have been ideal to play alongside Matic.

No, he plays higher up the field. Khedira would have been ideal with Vidal higher up between Haza and Willian

Would like to see us go 4-5-1. Get a bit of width in our play.

reason for the 2 losses & draw? Jose's un-inspired tactics and stale selections..
He is rewinding last season and playing back.

If Dave puts in more than 15 league matches at LB, we are doomed.
Bertrand haven't made the squad yet. Wtf was that?

Even without the re-inforcements, we should have atleast had 1 or 2 wins.
