Sandro is going to be out for three months, following surgery on an injury that he picked up whilst training with the Brazilian national team. Just as England ****ed Defoe's season last time out, it appears that we've had one of our more important players crocked before we've even got going. ****ing brilliant.
Not good news. I suppose that's the sale of Palacios off the agenda, then. Unless Harry plans to sell him, and bring in Parker?
i'm gutted and i already posted an article on JA606...... Anyway, theres been big rumours today especially coming from France that spurs are close to signing Lassana Diarra so it kind of makes sense now if spurs already new this about Sandro a few days ago. Gutted for Sandro and gutted for us because he is such an important player. Only positive is 1 month still until the season so that leaves 2 months out in the season .... still long enough Our bad luck with injuries to important players is atrocious!!!!
Don't forget Huddlestone lads. Big Tommy and Modric were great in the centre for us during the 09/10 season and last season as well. I still expect a new signing though, as Wilson and Kranjcar look like they will be going. Parker on loan will be some good business imo.
I think Huddlestone's a great player DL, but this essentially means that we're losing our central midfield for the start of the season, as Modric is basically gone, in my opinion. Diarra and van der Vaart in the middle, with Kranjcar behind New Striker?
I heard Real Madrid want nr £20million for Diarra. Will we really pay £20million for an holding midfielder who isn't even guaranteed a spot in the 1st 11 when everyone is fit?
I'd take a punt on Reo-Coker a cover. Always thought that Villa was the wrong club for him and rated him when he was at Wet Spam. Also the money being asked for an ageing Parker is unrealistic.
Huddlestone can't cover the ground when we're under the cosh, like Sandro does. Diarra at the reported asking price is a non starter, IMO. Parker on loan would be the best option for me.
Diarra - no, too expensive Parker - no, too expensive Reo-Coker - no, too ****e Palacios staying til January - that'll be the outcome
Maybe Palacious will come good again? I know his form has plummeted, but that seemed to be largely down to the tragedy surrounding his brother. A similar thing happened to Sagna at Arsenal, his brother died tragically and Sagna's form went downhill sharp. But last season he was back to his best. Palacious was a good player before the murder, hopefully he can get back to that form again.
Palacios is not a top player, never was and never will be. His worrying lack of passing abillity goes against the high standard of the rest of the team so I'd be glad to get shot.
I would agree that Palacios is not a super talented ball player, or anything like that. However, a team has to have balance. Not everybody can be a creator, you sometimes need a destroyer in there, too, to break up the opposition play. Palacios is good at that, the problem is what he does with the ball after he's won it. He needs to just keep it simple - Glen Hoddle, he ain't.
I think that he needs a fresh start to get back to his best though, NSIS. If we could get the £14m from PSG that's been mentioned and bring in Diarra for a similar amount, then I feel that would suit all parties. Maybe even pick up Reo-Coker as back-up for nothing and/or Scott Parker, if we can offload some of our dead wood.
I would agree, PNP. At £14mm he should be sold, as that's a top price IMO. I would be happy to see either Diarra, or Parker as temporary replacements. I think Diarra at the reported £18-20mm will be a non starter, however.
