The joke's on you guys, my role in the last game was "The Bored Cop". <laugh>

PM: "You are the Cop, but years of dreary work with no thanks for all your hard work has drained all your original passion for the job away.
As a result you're going to teach Town a lesson by doing the bare minimum to assist them in catching the current crop of bad guys, so that they appreciate how diligent and amazing you have been in the past.
Note you are still town aligned and still need to catch the bad guys. However a couple of days of ineptitude will teach those ungrateful fools a lesson, after which you can resume the normal service and catch the bad guys."

Chances are you'll be flying blind anyway because there is very good chance the medium will not announce himself.

That's part of the point of the unknown evil. You've no idea what you're against nor how many.

It could be one group. Two groups. Or more groups with an agenda. You also don't know who and how many power roles The town has.
