I read that there is a 'tug of love' going on between Bristol City and Norwich for Gayle. Gayle would prefer to stay in the Prem, but Palace have agreed on a deal with Bristol City which includes a waiver for Bolasie's sell-on fee. Palace have also threatened Gayle with relegation to their U21 side if he refuses the Bristol City deal - he is currently at Ashton Gate 'negotiating' personal terms. Like I said, he would prefer to stay in the Prem, but he may not have much choice, as to match the Bolasie deal Norwich would need to offer in excess of £10m. Interesting......
I was wondering why Palace had accepted a bid of around £6m, when Pardew said he'd want at least £10m a few weeks ago.
I do not believe this story at all but if the limit of our ambition was a striker who is not wanted by a Premiership lesser light and whose only other suitor is a Club that were in Div 1 last year then God help us.
Don't believe me then. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...bid-accepted-for-crystal-palaces-dwight-gayle As for a team that was in L1 last season, I don't think it was THAT long ago that both you and Leicester were experiencing the delights of that level. We aren't fashionable currently, but we have massively underachieved for the past 15 years, due to bad management mainly both on and off the pitch, so with the right manager and backing (Steve Lansdown and his millions) and a revamped stadium there is no reason why we can't pop our heads round the door of the Prem in a few seasons time.
I wasn't having a pop at your Club - far from it. Potentially you are a bigger Club than us. All I was saying was that I didn't believe we were after Gayle who, on paper, is worse that Grabban, Hooper, Wolfswinkel and Lafferty who we already have and need to replace. He will undoubtedly do a good job for you but is hardly the quality of striker we need to keep us in the Premiership.
Fair comment 1950canary And I hope your board agree with your assessment. We (Bristol City) have failed to attract some good players we have been linked to in the past - you need success as a club to attract good players - but you have to earn success with unknowns first - it's a vicious circle which we are all familiar with.
When I lived in Bristol, I used to pop down to The Knowle Hotel to watch Norwich games. I wonder if Paul Cheesley still runs the place?
His not a bad player but we really need to have more ambition and aim for a higher calibre of player, also we need someone who can play as a lone forward.
Never heard of him. Debra Chresely however is not very good with money. https://m.thegazette.co.uk/notice/2233754
