Strongest team without Carroll?

  1. Just incase Carroll is out for more than the next two games, but Arfa returns, what would our strongest team without Carroll be?

    Mine -

    ---------------------------------Harper----------------------------------

    -Simmo---------Taylor---------------------Coloccini-------------Enrique

    -Barton-------------------------Tiote-----------------------------Nolan

    -------------------Ben Arfa----------------Gutierrez-------------------

    ---------------------------------Ameobi----------------------------------

    We might aswell...

Barton, Tiote and Nolan are both 3 strong, comitted players that do well in both attacking and defense. I think they could do a good job of holding off an enemy counter attack.

I think if Jonas steps his game up, and Arfa plays like we hope he will, this could be a deadly line up.

    Thoughts?

p.s. I play this line up on Fifa 11 somtimes, only with Carroll upfront :D

If we were to play that, which isn't bad, I would swap Nolan with Gutierrez.

    <ok>

Ben Arfa won't be back in time for the next 2 games so this is null and void as you've made him one of the fundamentals of your team.

i dont think ameobi and deadly have ever gone into the same sentance. and jonas is not an attacking midfielder, he's a winger, thats his strength, and nolan out left whats that all about, the christmass tree formation doesnt wotk in the premier league, thats why no one uses it.

Swap Nolan and Gutierrez around I would say, as Nolan is only ever effective in an attacking role. And Gutierrez is a winger, it's about right though.

Is the tactic for Simpson to jump on Enriques back and ditto for Barton and Nolan so that they look like giants and scare the opposition away?

Aye, can't see Nolan's lack mobility being a strength on the wing...a simple 4,5,1 would do me like!

I cant help but feel he wasn't given a chance. Such a talent in Spain.

I do feel that 4-5-1/4-3-3 is our best line up, but i also like

    Harper
    Simmo - Saylor - Colo - Jose
Bartoon- Tiote - Nolan - Jonas
    Ben Arfa
    Carroll

Taken from Wiki "Luque has recently been linked with a move back to England with QPR who are still looking to replace Jamie Mackie after breaking his leg."

Probably only 0.1% of truth in it but would be interesting if it were.

Fulham just seem to sit back and defend most the time, id like to see us go all out on them, hopefully with out guthrie. He may as well lie on the grass at kick off to save himself the bother of doing it when he gets the ball.
