Just tweeted: Alan McIntyre @QPRsno1 Dwight Gayle will be a #qpr player soon, after Mr Austin joins Spurs.
Per Talksport today: Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew says forward Dwight Gayle will only leave the club if their valuation is met. The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park following the summer arrivals of Bakary Sako, Patrick Bamford and Connor Wickham. Bournemouth, Fulham, Norwich and QPR have all been linked with moves for the former Peterborough forward. But Pardew insists he will not let Gayle go unless a sufficient bid is received, with Eagles chief Steve Parish said to value him at £10million. "Dwight Gayle's a goalscorer, he's proven that," said Pardew. "He's scored goals in the Premier League and the Championship, which is a tremendous value to him so he won't go anywhere unless his valuation is met." Pardew confirmed there will be a few departures from Selhurst Park by the close of the transfer window, but he does not expect any more arrivals. "I'm pretty much happy with what I've got," he said. "There's one or two players that need to move on from here because our squad is heavy now. "We'll look at the window because someone might come to our attention so never say never, but I'm pretty confident we're there."
Would love Austin at spurs...but think he will end up at chelsea now they have Costa issues. Good luck this season...would love to see your lot back in the premier league...have a soft spot for you since the 82 cup final and think you did the right thing in giving Ramsey a chance to bring you back up
I see that Yann M'Vila has now signed for Sunderland saying how he's always wanted to play in the Premier League. Well he had the opportunity. I seem to recall the lure of Russian Mafia money seemed to be a lot more attractive for him when both Hughes and then Redknapp were having wet dreams about bringing him to Loftus Road. Spurs had been interested but we were the favourites because everyone knew we'd pay whatever valuation his agent and football club wanted for him. He was obviously quality as Rubin Kazan couldn't wait to unload him and Roma weren't prepared to buy him. So glad we don't go for mercenary tarts like him any longer.
Sunday Times match report was 80% about Austin, and not very flattering about our 'toothless' attack. Spurs likely destination.
West Ham were better prepared for today than Arsenal. Bilic seems to have used the European qualification games as an intense pre-season programme and got the perfect result - 3 points today and no more European aggravation. Cech was supposed to gain Arsenal 10 points - he'll have to earn them 13 now!
Yes. But who for? Still find it strange that Mourinho let him go to Arsenal of all teams. Trojan Horse? Sabotage? Sorry wrong thread. I suppose that comment belongs on the Conspiracy thread.
Funny thing is yesterday with Courtois sent off and facing a ban everyone seemed to think Wenger had trumped Jose, then Cech produces not one but two schoolboy howlers and Arsenal are bottom of the table...
Reminds me of Green yesterday. The first was a near post effort he could have thrown his hat on and the second was a long way out and not all that hard either.
I heard from someone that is close to Charlie's Dad that he is off to Newcastle. Could be bollocks, as another "source" close to him had told me previously that he was going to Liverpool.
