Jackett = good manager Holloway = good manager Adkinks = ??? I think I figured out what's needed to get the best out of Puncheon
Nah ....none of the above, I just think Punch wants to be loved. We, at the Den know how to make a good player feel at home, a good crowd brings out the best in a player and when that Miiiiiiiiiiii roar gets going - it makes your skin tingle!
adkins is a good manager, he had the highest win ratio in league 1 and i think maybe even in the country last season he also got scunthorpe promoted twice and managed to keep them up on a shoe-string budget. and the thing with punch is that at the start of his spells with a club he plays very well, but as time progresses he gets lazy and inconsistent. the fact that he has played for 10 different teams over 8 years shows he is a bit disruptive
I meant man management really He can't be a bad manager to get you promoted So did Puncheon start off well at Saints and then become disruptive? Starting to think Townsend would be the better option
puncheon was very good when he first came but during the end of his first season (under pardew) and into his second season (under pardew and later adkins) he began to slump in form. due to that we started playing alex oxlade chamberlain a bit more and puncheon threw a bit of a hissy. he refused to travel with the squad when named on the bench and i think that was when adkins and oucheon really had their fallout. if your manager can manage to sort out puncheons attitude and make him realize its not all about him, then he should be good, but it is a bit of a risk still
MMJ, Our king Kenny is a miracle worker and has sorted out lots of bad attitude/rough diamond players in the past so Punch will be just another one if we buy him off you. I always think that in these sort of circumstances with so-called bad attitude players that from our point of view KJ would have seen enough of him in training by now to know if he wants him on a perm deal.
Exactly, this is what you are all missing Punch starts off great for a short spell, but in the long term he is useless..........he was only at Millwall and Blackpool for short spells and he was good when he first started for us but he will go off the boil and be very inconsistent then we brought through Chamberlain who took his spot straight away..........to answer some silly question from some dippy Millwall fans on here; We are not selling straight away because our chairman is a business man and wants as much cash as possible for him.......Millwall is in the South of England also
Well if he has a figure in mind then he should make it known so clubs start making offers that are likely to be accepted, makes sense for all parties as he wants to sell him not exactly a Downing or Modric situation We know we are in the south of England, I think you missed the point of the comment. We get called Southern (insert expletive) by any club North of us (which is most) so as Southampton is one of the few further south we are geographically 'Northern' basically it was a ****ing joke!
No one knows! our chairman doesn't do much business in the public so we will have to wait and see.......just out of interest, what kind of budget do Millwall have to spend? Have you signed anyone yet?
May or may not have spent £1m getting henderson, originally heard we got him on a free. Had 2.8m from Moro sale so either we have all of that still or 1.8m. Rumour we bid 850k for Puncheon, we wouldn't go much higher than that
You know what they say about not going into the kitchen if you can't stand the heat OLOF...nice to know you're alive!
