I was walking past the Che Geuvara and a big crowd had formed listening to Corbyn as guest speaker .
There was a bit of a buzz about the place .
 
I think the voting papers go out within a week and so the time for someone else to make a move is getting tight. One thing I have noticed is that Burnham's statements now have sjown him move much more to the left than his original position. Corbyn has certainly shaken the pack, Kendall is nowhere, it will be interesting to see how the second preferences stack up and if the stop Corbyn campaign is successful. From earlier dictats, people do not appreciate being told what to do and this could all backfire on the other candidates.

You know that you are screwed as a politician when most of your soundbites are just scare stories about your oponents rather than talking about your own vision and credentials.

Bloody useless twat Burnham his latest policy to save his campaign kick out all MPs after serving 25 years.... So that'll be errrr Corbyn then, what a twat.

The other candidates have a blank canvas to work with they all could've got some original ideas running really made labour look alive & vital but no they're all still hiding in Blair's shadow & punting out Tory policy but with slightly less of a bitter after taste.

The interesting thing on immigration is he's not saying he's in favour of unlimited immigration he's saying immigration issues are just highlighting the flaws in Britain such as no lack of forward planning in services (ie building Norwich a new hospital that allowed for ZERO growth in population) Tories cancelling BSF program so no slack in school places stuff like that immigration isn't the problem the problems are not building houses, not building schools, not expanding NHS provision.

Some of the above is down to local councils not enforcing planning regulations ie you can build 500 homes but you have to build a primary school etc councils gave powers like that but seem to cave in under a bit of pressure from builders as they want more profit.

Thing is putting numbers on immigration & we'd very ****ed how many nurses & doctors cone from outside the EU? You can't control EU immigration because that's a founding premises of free movement. I think the problem is people think immigration = asylum seekers which doesn't help the debate.
 
Rich - your last sentence is so depressingly true. To be fair your point about short term thinking in the planning departments is also spot on. It is the same in business as well - everyone is happy to make a short term decision that makes them look good and then move on and let other people deal with the consequences - my company sells higher end products and time after time we quote on jobs and the clients end up going for lower grade Italian or Chinese gear and then a couple of years down the line they complain to us that the equipment is rubbish but the person who made the buying decision has moved elsewhere in the organisation.

It now seems increasingly likely that the turkeys are going to vote for Christmas but as Corbyn voted 400 times against the Blair/Brown Governments I assume he won't he a hypocrite and object when the majority of his own MP's make him a laughing stock by voting against him continually. Civil War looms!!!

Ironically all the Turkeys are in Norfolk and the voters live in big cities.
