that day of razzamattaz at ascot --no thanks --horses paid to run , jocks who dont know , --i.m doing two horses tommorrow --Belvoir Diva -7/1 -4 35 hay -chris wall sends her up there with g baker to do the rest, and at newmarket 3 35 Hawksmoor 5/1 has H Bentley ridin for h palmer.i shall be out cycling so wont see any of the races, but hope they both run well.....all the best people ......
Worst Ascot meeting of the whole year - I fancy two horses there tomorrow but cannot possibly back them as some lad called Shin is riding them. I have no doubt he is a top jock in his own country but has likely never visited Ascot before and has no experience of race riding in England. They also put all riders in the same silks when actually just changing cap colour would suffice for their irrelevant idea of Uk Vs rest of the world. I have never met a racing fan with anything good to say about this meeting yet it persists.
I find the Shergar cup a waste of a Saturday racing day. At least the football starts today to compensate for it. Still hopefully the top guys here will knock a few winners out later today for me.
Morning guys my gf is going Lingfield tonight with friends any heads up would put me in the good books but be aware any losers will put me in the stocks lol
Basateen turns out at Haydock today, I backed it last time out after a delayed return, was a very decent 2-y-o, and looked like it was given an easy time. Will give him one more try today as they up him to 10f. 5/1 fav.
I'm not in great form myself at the moment but it might be worth chancing a small ew on Silver Springs 11/1 in the first. With a bit of luck it could just set her up for the rest of the evening
Avoiding Ascot like the plague today, I'm doing the other three telly races only. Two of mine already been mentioned so I'm taking that as a good sign! Basateen, Hawksmoor and the odds-on Intilaaq in doubles and atreble. Good luck all
You may be right Bluesky, Shinn could well be bringing his mounts up the rear. https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&sour...0UPwMe&usg=AFQjCNED7vssO6XQpI5gkfKNCBAo2pYhdg That's your guy finishing 2nd at Canterbury races where he had a bit of a malfunction!
14:00 Newmarket - Sepal (A maiden fillies' stakes races over 7f, with all runners being debutantes, is hardly a race to bet on. However, I like the look of this well-bred daughter of Afleet Alex who was himself a high-class American racehorse, having finished a close-up third in the 2005 Kentucky Derby. Damsire Distant View was also pretty useful during his short career. Also, Sepal is a reasonably early foal (13th Feb.) while some of the others might need a bit more time? Backed her at 6/1 with PP).
Will definitely be avoiding the Shergar Cup card as I have burned my fingers (actually my money) there previously with the best horse in the race being ridden by some numpty who does not know how races are run over here. Whoever “B Shinn” is, he should win the opener but it is a no bet. At Newmarket in the 3:05, MAMBO PARADISE can collect after a creditable effort at Not So Glorious Goodwood, where Flash Fire ran a stinker. Buckstay may be his chief rival as Mr Win franked their form last week. The Sweet Solera looks like a race to avoid from a betting point of view, although easy Ascot winner Marenko is tempting at silly odds in a wide-open race. On King George day at Ascot, MUTASAYYID ran an excellent race on soft ground to finish second to Portage and I think that he can account for Ashridge Lad again in the Newmarket 4:45. It also looks difficult to oppose the favourite AMOUR DE NUIT in the closing 5:15 as the Prescott horse is clearly on the upgrade and can confirm running with The Cashel Man from Lingfield. Shame that the Clairefontaine card is over the sticks...
REMBRANDT VAN RIJN a big boost for our boys form! What an awful ride by Martin Harley on Green Light though!
Was very poor alright. I had him backed. Graham Cunningham hit the final nail in for me pre race when he selected it anyway so at least I was prepared for it!
