When it had 'Root 101' on the scoreboard, I'm sure the Aussies must have thought there was something very sinister and Orwellian about the events of the day.

Absolutely. The records were tumbling quicker than the Aussie wickets. Great that Stuart Broad of all people should get the wickets and Joe Root should smack David Warner to the boundary to bring his hundred up. You really couldn't make it up.
