    Only the pre season friendlies thread has mentioned the Brentford match, so I'll throw up a match thread.

    Norwich XI:

    Ruddy; Whittaker, Martin (c), Bassong, Brady; Howson, Mulumbu, Dorrans, Johnson; Hoolahan; Grabban.

    Brentford XI:

    Button, Yennaris, Bidwell, Kerschbaumer, Barbet, Dean, Vibe, Diagouraga, Gray, Judge, Gogia.

    Great finish by Wes followed by a horrendous mistake from Martin and a great finish from the Brentford player! Shocking defending.

    Just as against the binners in the playoffs. He is a decent defender at best, and they tend to play at a lower level than we are now at.

    Defence has been my main concern for the new season and that goal exemplifies it perfectly. There are times when they dawdle and that will be fatal in the EPL. They gave us enough kittens in the Championship! I'd be interested in how Wisdom fits in but I'd still really like to see the acquisition of a solid CB.

    The old saying "you can't make silk purses out of sows ears" seems apt for our defence. We have too many sows ears.
