Interesting. That makes sense. I was surprised about the amount of negativity with Mulumbu's signing, although I imagine no-one is fussed now - he is class IMO.

The difference must be the "add-ons of c.£1m" that I was told about then I guess. Depending on the amount outstanding for Snodders, we may have only actually handed over £3.5m then, which explains to me why Bruce wasn't happy. Does anyone actually hand over that full headline amount straight away on football transfers? I remember something of a big song and dance was made of the fact that we were able to give Sporting Lisbon the full £8.5m there and then up front in about March so they could pay their players, which means I am guessing it is unusual.

I bet Liverpool do ;)

Lee Tomlin from Middlesborugh is the latest rumour

I like Tomlin but not sure what he could give us (apart from a few years) that Wes doesn't.

IMHO we need another CB (although Norman might be able to double up there) and another striker (would love Lambert to come here). I thought Ricky looked decent the other night - great movement and link up, but his confidence looks shattered poor lad.

One goal. That's what I hope. One goal and a bit of Carrow Road crowd love.

Lee Tomlin - do we need another player with a tendency to overeat? ;)

Jake Kean has left Blackburn by mutual consent. Was reportedly spotted at Colney earlier in the week.

Putting 2 and 2 together, I think that might be the third keeper sorted.

VitalFootball have rather cryptically suggested Wednesday will be an "interesting day" for the club, whatever that means. Unless I'm missing something obvious, I've no idea what that alludes to.

Random question off the back of the Mulumbu wages... Probably impossible to know the answer

We know the players have relegation and promotion clauses in their contracts. A mate has just claimed that the relegation and promotion percentages are the same.

That means, for example, that if Bassong were on £40,000 per week in the PL with a 30% relegation wage cut/promotion wage increase clause:
- his wages would be reduced to £28,000pw (40k x 0.7) in the Championship
- then on promotion they would go to £36,400pw (28k x 1.3)

Meaning the players essentially get a pay cut in the same division... Any idea if that's true?!?

Looks like Lamberts heading to WBA for about £3mil. Tony knows what he needs, and he goes out and gets it. I wish we would push to get him. I'd bid £4 Mil. either push them up, or we'd get him. win-win. He would score goals for us. I think it's worth the money.

Of course Tony knows what he needs, its hardly complicated.

I'm not sure I agree, but we can revisit this topic at the end of the season.

Have to say that for £4m (ish) I'd have been pleased if we'd managed to acquire Ricky Lambert.
Far better path ahead than wrangling about whether to 'stick or twist' with our £8.5m Dutch 'asset'.

Can't really. Accurately. Different manager, style of play and surrounding players. Bradys set pieces and crosses, Redmond opening up defences, AN attacking fearless style. Will probably be very different to what will happen at the Hawethorns.

Ha! I little bitchy. It gets results. He is yet to fail at anything.

I disagree, he spent an absolute fortune at Stoke and never got them top half (in fact it may be top 12. Mark Hughes done it first season.

He has also failed to produce a side worth watching.

He made a ****e, average Campionship Stoke into a solid Premiership side. Then went to an almost relegated Palace and saved them comfortably. I dont buy in to all the sh*t people give him. He is a certain style of manager, for a certain standard of clubs. Championship to mid table prem, he will either get you up or keep you up, and make your club solid. That's the position we are in. He doesnt deserve s**t he gets. He's like Alladyce. They are class at what they do, and they never fail. Consistently solid

I'm not saying he's a champions League manager. He is a mid table premier league manager, who will keep you up. That's all I'm saying. He knows Lambert is a goalscorer and a grafter. Which is why I wanted him.
