Updated the good ol' controversial and rudimentary depth chart:

    Depth Chart.JPG

Green = can naturally play that position
Yellow = could play in that position if required

It will be interesting to see who starts in the striker role and I'm sure we'll see a choice between RvW and CJ for different games. Having Redmond in the team may well help RvW, as he does at least cross the ball sometimes and last but not least, AN tactics of being more attack minded will also benefit him

If we cannot get another striker in I think we would be stupid to get rid of RvW until he has had a chance to play in a team that actually tries to score goals.

I am not sure if anyone has seen but apparently Rudy Gestede is set to have a medical at Villa. Obviously sounds like we were interested at one point, no doubt Villa would offer bigger wages ect than us and I am not sure on the fee but you'd expect they have some cash to spend after selling Benteke.

Comparison of Hooper, Grabban and Jerome. Very simplistic and doesn't take into account the role each player is playing with in the team, but a shot accuracy of 76% for Hooper is outstanding by anyone's standards! I hope he gets a fair crack of the whip this season.

Yeah I think there's no doubt that Hooper is comfortably our most clinical forward, but he needs to get much fitter and stay fit. Tbh I'm not quite sure in this day and age how a professional like him ends up putting on timber so fast - apart from anything else that added unnecessary bulk ends up putting more strain on his joints, muscles, ligaments etc and will just cause him more injury problems. Seriously frustrating.

Interesting on a separate note that Grabban's shot accuracy is pretty respectable and better than Jerome's. Hasn't always felt that way!

First game of the season 2013-14:
    Ruddy
    Turner
    Martin
    Whittaker
    Garrido
    Johnson
    Howson
    E.Bennett
    Redmond
    Hoolahan
    Van Wolfswinkel

We can field a better line-up than that now eh?

I spoke to a colleague earlier ( a Liverpool fan) who said that Wisdom is best when playing at CB. He was also a bit disgruntled about Liverpool loaning him out as he though that Wisdom could have done a job for them this season.

I can not for the life of me believe that RvW is being given yet another chance to prove just what a waste of oxygen he is!! He must show something in training that he doesnt show on the pitch, because I can not fathom why he still potentially warrants a place in the team. I can only put it down to sheer bloody mindedness not to accept that we wasted our money and no other team is stupid enough to want him. This approach to not accept that he cant hit a barn door has already lead to our relagation once. Please, please, lets not put blind faith in a maraculous turnaround into a pralific goal scorer send us down again!! Just get rid of him AN. I am almost certain that I will not be proved wrong on this!!!
