Maybe the club are leaving it as late as possible to gauge the situation with Charlie. The No.9 shirt is an important and traditional CF one.
 
Bit like sending out our season tickets. How long does it take to produce a 2'' square bit of plastic?

Am sure I once had to pick mine up on the day of a game. Midweek at home to Wimbledon rings a bell.

Chery to wear the number 8 shirt ...
  • QPR announce squad numbers for 2015/16 season
  • New signing Chery to wear number 8 shirt
  • Mackie will wear number 12
SUMMER signing Tjaronn Chery will wear the number 8 shirt for QPR this season.
Of the other new arrivals in W12, Jamie Mackie has been handed the number 12 jersey he wore with such distinction in his first spell at Loftus Road, whilst former Swindon Town duo Ben Gladwin and Massimo Luongo will wear 11 and 21 respectively.
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has been given the number 14 shirt and German striker Seb Polter will wear number 33.

Out of interest, if someone is sold with a particular squad number, then someone else comes in afterwards, can they take up that free number? Or can a number only be assigned once? Just wondering if we'll go through most of the season with no number 9 or 10.
