I gone and done a rudimentary depth chart: We seem reasonably well covered, but still some areas could be improved with a 'quality signing'.
Good to know. I thought, as others pointed out, that he looked a bit overweight last night (and if I recall correctly he has done in every pre-season so far...) but that he still linked up very nicely and showed some decent touches
Maybe Hooper just likes to wear nice tight tops or the kit man gave him Redders instead of his own? He certainly looks somewhat undercooked which is hugely disappointing given the (I presume) the major reason he came to us was to play PL football and his best chance of getting the nod from AN is to be fully match fit and being seen to try his hardest. I was a bit shocked at how much timber he was carrying but despite this his movement was intelligent and his link up play was pretty good and I reckon had he had the chances which fell to RvW we would have got at least a draw last night.
Especially seeing as he will probably know he will not be first choice with AN preferring Jerome ahead of him. He should have really tried to show what he could do in the pre season to move up AN's list a bit.
This is ironic, seeing as I mentioned St Etienne a few posts back. They may well have a vacancy up front soon?? http://transfernewscentral.com/2015/07/29/bournemouth-reach-agreement-for-max-gradel/
He was also very good for Leeds. I always found it odd that another English club never took him away, or Norwich for that matter as we were busy taking all the other better players from them.
I guess he's gone to them, not us, because he asked Becchio about us rather than Bradders and Howson!
Caulker is honestly best avoided. I'm surprised Saints have gone for him. Vastly overrated and a liability for every club he's played for.
