Moussa Sow is the one that is continuously linked year in and year out and to be honest I've never took much notice of it with it being the annual rumour. Good player from what I have seen but seems to have used us to improve his contract where he is if that media are to be believed. Reckon fee would be around £12m.
Max Kruse, been ploying his trade with Borussia Monchengladbach, 13 goals and 11 assists in 42 games last year. Could be a valuable asset and with him playing for a team that imo punched above their weight last year. Could try and cash in whilst on a high.
Theres the kid that Villa are after, Jordan Ayew. Only 23, pacey player however isnt that prolific, last year being his best when he got 12 goals in 29 games. Looking at his time at Marseille he was mainly used as a winger but at Lorient has been deployed as a striker. Villa have just made an £12m bid so would have to match it, not sure if i'd be keen spending that much on a player with not much to show for it thus far in his career.
An idea for a loan could be James Wilson from Utd, personally can see us getting Januzaj on loan on Deadline day. However James Wilson is young, still a bit raw and obviously coming from Utd will have experience of playing with better players and could use the experience with us to either cement his place at Utd or even become a full transfer if he is told by LVG he is not going to get game time.
The one that I will probably be blasted for, but personally think after what happened last season we could get him on the cheap (By which I mean about £4m) is Borini. Barely played last season and think it is fair to say Liverpool just want rid now, they accepted a recent bid from Lazio for something in the region of £4m I believe. Whilst a lot of SAFC fans have now got a serious dislike for Borini I personally agree with what he did, not really affiliated to SAFC in anyway in terms of life long fan etc, and he wanted to played in the CL, nothing wrong with ambition imo. However hasnt worked, and we could offer him first team football. A forward three of Borini/Defoe/Lens would be the best we have ever had.
The list goes on! Just some of the players I personally think we should be looking at with some of the ones other teams are looking at!
