Only a week to go untill our season starts!! :) <diva> <cracker>

What team would you go with for this 1st leg? For me:

Stekleenburg
Targett
Fonte
Yoshida
Cedric
Wanyama
Clasie
Juanmi
Tadic
Mane
Pelle

Almost started with Davis but would be good to see what Juanmi is all about, the rest of the team almost picks itself at the moment doesn't it? Don't think we will be rushing Jay back to start competive games.

Also who on here is going? :emoticon-0167-beer:

Do you know on this occasion I think I am going to leave it to Ron to pick the team. I think he knows quite a bit more about football than me and he certainly knows the players better than me.

We need to win this one by a margin, so we can rest players in the return leg. Don't want a battle three days before the season starts.

Yeah that would be nice, if we can take a 3-0 win to Holland n they have no away goal, we could definitely rest a few prior to the trip to Newcastle which won't be easy anyway.

Yaaaay, just bought a ticket! First time I'll have been to a game on my lonesome. My parents will be going as usual, but I won't be sitting with them. Kingsland Area 35 apparently.

I'd go for something like this. Maybe play Reed alongside Wanyama and play Clasie when Juanmi is for a more defensive side.

Davis, Long and JRod are good attacking options to have. Defensively we don't have so many options.

Kingsland Block 35 is where the cool people sit. You never know, you may get really lucky!

We can add shane and jay from the bench if we need em in attack or add davis/reed if we want to protect a lead. Perfect set up that.

I think Davis will start. His big advantage is that he can play all across the midfield - left, right, attacking, defensive, you name it. That gives us an option to change our formation during the match, without making a substitution. Against Feyenoord Davis started as a left midfielder, and when it seemed that Feyenoord will gain control of the midfield due to them having an extra central midfielder, Davis switched to central midfield to counter that threat.

Wouldn't have Juanmi behind Pelle. That's gotta be Mane. Still not convinced by Juanmi yet anyway. I'd prefer Davis/JWP/Long.

Is this a "I am not sure he is good" line or a "Hey, he hasn't played a competitive game yet, so we don't know what he can do" line?

If it is the first variety, I think it's a bit harsh. I'm not sure what a player can do to convince someone after a few weeks of training and a couple of friendlies.
