Righto.. Your selectors need to be dropped the silly ****s.. Theirs enough knowledgable/passionate blokes on here to see what the problem areas are.. I'd have KP in definately.. Chuck ya Irish bloke in too! Too loyal to your bowling attack isn't gonna earn the urn! The Ashes isn't just won by the players!

He scored under 300 runs on that tour so that is nowt to be bandied about for the "premier " player

This is from wiki says it all about his team ethic (but he is happy to play in div 2 when it suits);

After Nottinghamshire were relegated in 2003, Pietersen requested a release from his contract, saying "I haven't been happy for a while....The pitch at Trent Bridge has been one of my problems... I could have done so much better if the wicket had been good."[53] This led to a public row with club captain Jason Gallian, where Gallian allegedly threw Pietersen's kit off the Trent Bridge balcony and broke his bat:
During the game I told the captain that I was not happy and that I wanted to leave. After the game we spoke in the dressing room and then I went to have dinner. I got a call saying the captain had trashed my equipment. I was told the captain had said, 'if he does not want to play for Notts he can f*** off.' I have not spoken to Gallian since, nor have I received an apology.[54]
Pietersen was made to honour the last year of his contract at Nottinghamshire, but "didn't enjoy it at all".[55] In October 2004, he joined Hampshire under the captaincy of Shane Warne.[56]
So they should all be dropped. Top scorer and best average in the ,tour in aus. Means he was the best batsman we had down there... Yet cook, bell etc were all worse and are still there! Are you telling me that Adam Lyth, Garry Ballance and Ian Bell are all currently better options than Kevin Pieterson? I certainly don't think so!

If he was an Aussie and had traitorously texted the opposition in the middle of a test do you think he would have played another game for Australia? Personally I don't - he should never have been brought back after that incident IMO

Re: Bowlers - the problem with our bowlers is that they seem to need wickets/conditions to suit i.e Jimmy Anderson if the ball don't swing he is ineffectual. Whereas someone like Johnson or Starc can be a menace on any wicket. You also have a front line spinner where we have a batsman who is a part time spinner(but getting better at it)

Our bowlers looked a menace in the first test on a pitch that was doing nothing for their bowlers - because we had the runs on the board already! SCoreboard pressure makes a big difference IMO.

KP bats with no pressure, something your top order hasn't handled well. Different strokes for different folks mate, excuse the pun lol warner is a ****er but wins tests For us. I see the South African doing the same <ok>

Perfectly put - lets be honest - Cristiano Ronaldo is a bit of a twat but it wouldn't stop us wanting him at Sunderland!
