Well 2 months Friday is my wedding day, pretty much paid now just a few minor things to take care of. Any tips for speech, or the day in general. Looking forward to don't do it replies
Keep your speech simple and about how amazing your wife is! It's your day so let the best man be funny and thank everyone for you. Telling her how amazing she is in front of your nearest and dearest will keep you in good books for at least a few days! Other than that just enjoy it and take it all in, it is a whirlwind! Hope you both have an amazing day!
Even though it's tradition, don't encourage your best man to sleep with a bridesmaid. Sounds romantic but causes no end of trouble
Where you getting married, Joe? We are at Manchester United the following day, I assume you have took that into consideration. Tell the future wife your just having a couple of shandys and an early night in preparation for the 'big day'
Boldon quality hotel. She thinks we are just gonna drive somewhere on the Sat and have a couple of days away, I suggested Manchester and the match, I got a polite do one . So anyway I then discovered you had to get your wife to be a wedding gift, what's all that about. So I booked us to go to Barca the Sunday to Wed, arranged sitters and she doesn't know. Gonna give her boarding pass etc on wedding day
**** will not be perfect the Mrs will most likely cry about flowers/food/colour of a bird flying in photos, you will 100% want to deck someone. Just let it all fly over ya head and enjoy the day.
I got married couple of weeks ago mate, on my honeymoon now. Speech was easy, special mention to absent friends and family including deceased is a nice touch. Take the piss out of the bridesmaids if possible, tell her mother she looks great and go completely over the top about your wife. I also had a couple of Johnnie Walkers to take the edge off. Have an awesome day matey.
Good luck mate.i echo quinnos comments. Nice touch with the barcelona tickets. 30 odd years since i got married. Wrote the speech before hand and apart from a couple of jokes kept it simple and thanked and praised everyone there and those who couldnt be. Big thing treat it like a cup final. It might be the only one you ever have and the first is the one you will always remember most so relax enjoy and take it all in
Do you need a mates rates singer? All the best mate. I love marriage. My missus is amazing and, 8 years on, we're as close as ever! Not only is she a lovely person, she's also fit as **** and 10 years younger than me! If you're as lucky as me then get in there buddy
Im the worst person to tead this thread. Enjoy. Whole lotta money for piece of paper that means nowt. Sorry
Miserable twat I got married 35 years ago, if we make it to 23rd August, and it's the best thing that I've ever done It may not, however, be the best thing that Mrs. A. has ever done
Married next summer in Thailand. Just starting to organise it with the missus next week. Exciting ****. Marriage is for some and not others. If it doesn't last... Who gives a ****, it happens. Just enjoy it.
I was gonna go to Barca on the Monday, changed it to the Sunday, you never know if Barca are playing at home on the Sunday
Good luck for the big day mate. For the speech thank everyone for coming, thank your bridesmaids, best men, parents and in laws and anyone else who has really helped with the wedding then tell your wife she's lovely, beautiful etc. go over the top with that, give her her present then a toast to your amazing wife and fantastic friends and family. Jobs a good'un, that's what I did anyway, and like others have said try and enjoy the day which is easy said than done because it is a bit of a whirlwind.
