How many strikers Liverpool have or don't have is not of Sherwood's concern. If we had a hundred strikers and we wanted to buy Benteke it wouldn't matter. His only concern is about whether or not the keep the player we're targeting. Tim can be a weird ****er at times.

Mateo Kovacic has spoken about the possibility of a move to Anfield.
The Inter Milan playmaker has been perennially linked with the Reds, seemingly ever since time began.

Liverpool Football Club can confirm the squad numbers that have been allocated to four of their summer signings.
Roberto Firmino has been handed the No.11 jersey, while Nathaniel Clyne will wear No.2 for the Reds.
Joe Gomez will sport No.12 and Adam Bogdan is the club's new No.34.

Meanwhile, Divock Origi, who has started life as a Liverpool player one year on from signing for the club following the conclusion of his loan deal with Lille, will be No.27.
Earlier this month, James Milner's squad number was confirmed as 7, while Danny Ings' is No.28.

Has anyone heard any more about Gomez going on loan?

Based on 45 minutes against nobodies I can confidently declare he should be playing for us in the EL and LC.

I've not. I would expect it to be done after preseason.

Having seen him I would agree that he cannot be tossed into u21s and could easily go on loan to championship or play europa.

If he goes to Man U, so be it. This isn't one that we'd be disappointed to see go to a rival especially if he cost £32m, he just not wanted enough by the fans.

The only problem is that if it drags on too long and we've put all our eggs in the Bekteke basket we're either going to have put up with the ****e we've got now, or nothing as they'll be sold or panic and buy another Carroll or Balotelli.
 
I can see him doing very well at United if they stick to their hoofball tactics to be fair.
