supposedly real need to get carvalho before he is let go. Real madrid squad to go to US... who have flown now. Goalkeepers:Keylor Navas, Fernando Pacheco, Ruben Yanez Defenders:Raphael Varane, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Nacho, Marcelo, Dani Carvajal, Alvaro Arbeloa, Danilo Midfielders:Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale, Lucas Silva, Luka Modric, Denis Cheryshev, Isco, Asier Illarramendi, Marcos Llorente, Martin Odegaard, Jose Carlos Lazo Forwards:Karim Benzema, Lucas Vazquez, Jese
Mentioned that last week. By all accounts we tabled 16m bid but not heard anything since... wonder if if we're just waiting for the sterling deal to go through before getting that and benteke done. Those two for 16 and 32 would be the 49m from sterling transfer spent so figures add up...
Can you post the 30 man LFC squad that was going to Australia... Pretty sure a certain sterling was on that...
there's a slight, just imperceptible difference i can help you with here. sterling never got on a plane. illaramende has already got on said plane and flown to the US. ergo.... don't expect it to happen toorrow or the next day.. thats all i'm saying.
If we did conclude our business with llarramendi and Benteke, would everyone be happy with that? Providing no more outgoings bar some dead wood.
I still think there are areas that need inproving like LB but we've brought in a lot so far so couldn't complain too much. I don't mind benteke but would prefer others but can see some logic in bringing him in. Would give us plenty of options if we brought them 2 in though and would feel optimistic going into new season for sure
Glad I'm not the only one here who actually wouldn't mind Benteke, think him alongside Sturridge could be beast. Hardly any quality strikers on the market unfortunately, so him and the Lacazette are the best options, with the former probably having a que to sign him.. I don't think we can afford not to buy a striker this window though.
If united taught us anything last year, it's that hoofball can be effective and win you games when playing ****
Problem is, they resorted to hoofball as a Plan B. We're actively looking to spend £32m on trying to make a Plan B work as a Plan A. It's embarrassing. Rumours that Jerome Sinclair won't sign a new deal and wants to leave.
I'd accept that yes. We cannot change to much in one summer. 4 or 5 first team additions and a few improvements to squad depth. Like many I'd prefer others to Benteke but do agree he could work well with Sturridge. Only problem is Sturridge's injuries. I'm not sure he'll be so successful with out Sturridge.
Unless we're not making that plan A and actually going to use benteke differently. Just because he's used that way at villa doesn't mean it's the only way he can play... And don't use Belgium as he goes trains with them for 2 days every 3 months...
There was that 'cryptic' tweet Sinclair put out over the weekend about new challenge or something wasn't there?
I also use his time at Villa where he is only effective when they hoof the ball. You only have to look at last season where he struggled for most parts until Tactical Timmy came in and played long ball - lo and behold, he begins to score goals.
I really do not think what your saying is true. We will not be playing hoofball or trying to turn a plan B into plan A. If we were we would not have signed players like Firmino and Clyne, and would not be looking to offload both Balotelli and Lambert. Add to that we have brought in Sean O'Driscall who is all about passing playing and building patiently from the back.
