So after reading the article on BBC today about Wenger willing to get Nasri go on a free to keep him for another year (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14088970.stm), i'm curious what you Arsenal fans think of the situation.

Would you rather take £20m now and see him join one of your rivals? Or let his contract run down, get another years worth out of him and let him be able to talk to foreign clubs in Jan? This saying, he could still refuse to talk to foreign clubs and could still end up at a Prem club but for £0.

Just comes across as mad he hasn't swallowed his pride and accepted the £20m offer for him unless he is so confident Nasri will sign a new contract, which doesn't look to be the case, or that he will go abroad. But £20m...

It's hard to say without knowing the full extent of what's going on behind the scenes. One one hand Nasri could be saying "I'd love to stay but promise me you'll strengthen the squad with quality and make a real push to win things" and he's waiting to see Arsene fulfill this. On the otherhand he could just be a greedy little sheister out for as much money as he wants to.

If it's the former then fair play to the lad. He's clearly quality and wanting to see the team strengthened is something we can all agree. In this case I'd want him to stay and hopefully we'd sign the players to show our commitment which would encourage him to resign.

If it's the latter then take the money and drop kick him in the nethers. Tart.

Shame it has to include Wenger in the 'you signed a contract -so honour it' group of people.
But it is about time players understood that the price for these obscene contracts they have is loyalty to the terms agreed.
I want the message to be 'you cannot walk away when it suits, else you get a 1 year contract - which is it to be?'

well if we were a more attractive club..more ambitious i dunno maybe didn't choke when supposed to be winning the disney cc..wenger actually went out and bought STAR players...wouldn't be so stubborn..such panzie..continously embarrassing and pathetic then our players would've honoured their contracts a long time ago...

take cesc for example..you think maybe the moment bentdner could've scored that equaliser at the nou camp...sent us through knocking them out...ya think fabs would be more attracted to stay ...than thinking "oh no" not bentdner on the end of the cross!

think about it...players hold all the cards...can't you see the logic in them wanting to further their career at a more ambitious club!

It would be a sting to lose him for nothing, but I'd rather keep him for another year and hope he signs a contract.

Even if we did get £20+ for him, we probably wouldn't spend it on a replacement anyway, so it would be like losing him for nothing this year.

All round - it's better to keep him.

Be realistic if you own a business, you sell to whoever wants to buy what you are selling. Therefore isn't better that Arsenal get £20 million for Nasri now, rather then risk leting him go for nothing come January when he will beable to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club for nothing. All of which means less money for Arsene has to spend on quality proven players, and not on players who could develope into world class players which seems to be the way Arsene likes doing things. So far over the last 6 seasons this hasn't worked, and if Arsene continues like this with the teams around all strengthing it will be all the harder to qualify for the Champions League.

imo, Nasri's future depends on Fabregas. Nasri thinks he can do the Fabregas role and therefore wants Cesc to be gone and also making him the highest paid player at Arsenal. If Cesc does leave this season and Nasri makes that role his own he could sign a new contract.
