Which is why I said last season there was no point sacking Rodgers when one of the biggest problems would be solved at the end of the season anyway

    Captaincy is over blown.
Leaders will be leaders on the pitch anyway, regardless of who wears the band.
    It won't really change anything.

Hendo is a good a choice as any.

Henderson is the best choice available.

I think Henderson is a good player, who is consistent and reliable, and who is underrated by most people. Sure he isn't a star player but he will rarely give you a bad game, play his heart out and has great determination. It could be argued that his sending off against Man City lost Liverpool the title and as said before now that Gerrard has left [which I view as a good thing] he will be far more effective.

However, it does highlight a point, that some others have mentions about the lack of other options. As much as Liverpool fans don't like this, its often good to look at Man U as despite they dislike they have been dominant for two decades. You only have to look at their back line from a few seasons ago. Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra. Each of these players could have easily been captain, in front of Van Der Sar who also could have been captain. In front of them were Scholes/Giggs and Carrick who could have been captain. Rooney is arguable, but is now captain for club and country. This just quickly highlights the difference that the spine of Man U only a few seasons ago was so experienced/strong that there is no surprise they were so dominant.
