PS 400+ has been scored a few more times than that although they were in vain as they either lost or drew, but I will add that the game is changing with scores being much more erratic these days meaning the history doesnt help either way as much as it used to, so its a waste of time me talking about it!
Your theory holds no water, as 400+ 4th innings RUN CHASE hasn't happened on these shores since 1981.
Know what you are saying and the fact that they need it to win is huge but the game just feels a whole lot less certain than it used to. Heard earlier that the aussies did score 400+ to lose against us a few years ago in England so you never know. That said and done I still think we will win just that it's not as clear cut as some think. What are the odds?
I reckon a couple of centuries from assits and the tune will be different. This should be very difficult for Australia but this is still Australia. If England's seamer hold the line they did and discipline from the first innings and there's a breeze across the pitch helping swing too it'll be interesting
Deffo England are in growing bother. The don't need one they need 2 or 3 in quick order when the first comes
I said a couple of centuries and England would be crying Records aside .... 412 is not impossible given a good start so England need quick wickets
Not sure england are that desperate yet as they are bowling well and there have been many close calls, but I do know what you mean.
It's just respecting aussies. England clearly thought they'd won the way they batted yesterday evening.
