Delph is actually signing for city cue ur him making 5 or 6 league starts and 10 or so sub appearences before being shifted to someone like Everton, Stoke, Newcastle in a couple of years time much like Sinclair and Roswell.
He really is there to make up the numbers isn't he. I don't even rate Delph playing at Aston Villa. Couple of years, perhaps a league title or FA Cup then he can go to Sunderland.
Thing is Citeh think Sterling is a good player and he could be if he gets his head out of his arse, Delph on the other hand is ****. So yes £8m for Delph seems like a good deal, until you realise its £8m for a player to sit on the bench. However they are going to try and use Sterling and start him in games cause they want to look like they are developing young players or look like they are giving young players a chance. I actually think the deal will end up being £45m plus a few add ons. And Citeh will go through with it cause they want to look like they've pulled off a coupé and bought the best young English player and at the same time make a statement about how big they can spend now the FFP have gone.
I see City lining up with Silva, Aguero and De Bruyne up top, the Fernandos and Yaya/Pogba behind them. I don't really see a starting place for Sterling there. I can see them getting a Hg striker to back up Aguero and a couple of Hg defenders. Any other big money will go on replacing Navas, Mangala and possibly an upgrade on 1 or both Fernandos.
Please name these hg defenders and CMs Seriously there is a real shortage. Where city need to be they will be scraping.
Well, that's Delph's career down the pan. Exactly the same as Sterling. Begovic throwing his career away too with Chavski too. As good as those players are or could be, they'll never get the opportunities they need to develop. Who advises these players and why are the footballers themselves too dumb to realise it?
Sorry but I wasn't aware Citeh had bought had already bought De Bruyne and Pogba. Frankly I don't see the Pogba one happening, too many other big clubs around Europe want him. Also Silva, Augero and Yaya to last a whole season, . Yeah Right. Sterling is obviously going to get starting time cause those three need to be rested or will be injured a fair bit through the season.
I hope he gets done for drugs a month after signing and gets banned for 18 months. My ideal would be the test happens at Anfield after he gets sent off for a case of mistaken identity between him and Yaya.
So who? They need 4/5. Whilshire seems not on and Delph is one for league cup no doubt. Who are the defenders?
I think De Bruyne will be one of their top targets. Like you I can't see Pogba going there which is why I put /Yaya but I feel someone will be brought in for that role. Nasri could also be another on his way out so may need replacing. What you need to remember is they only have to replace the Hg players they lost which was 5, three of them never played, one was a bit part player on loan and the last one (Milner) had a decent amount of minutes. So basically they don't need to replace big players with Hg, they just need big players for the first team.
Like I say, doesn't really matter. They just need Hg players to fill a quota (see my above post to see the affect the players they lost had last season) To improve the first team they will replace players like Mangala, Nasri, Navas and Jovetic with better players, it wont effect the Hg quota or who they buy for that.
I'm not questioning City, I'm questioning why Delph wants to go... has he not seen the careers of players like Sinclair and Rodwell who have 1 half decent season move to a big club and get lost in the system. and take 3 years to get their careers back on track.
I would imagine they were all promised playing time (along with the big wage). At that age I suppose you think you are good enough to force your way into the team, not much point playing if you haven't got confidence in your own ability.
Thers confiddnce and then there's realism. That's where a decent agent sits down and goes, do you think this is best for your career? 2 years earning 80k before being sent back to a midtable team where we have to then try and get a decent wage of you haven't played many games.. Doesn't give you much room for negotiating if you haven't played 10 games in the 2 years
