How is he going to pass that medical if we were to accept a bid today? Will he be too sick to sign that contract? I don't know who is thicker his representatives or sterling. Maybe it is just both.
Raheem Sterling didn't turn up for training with the Liverpool squad today after phoning in sick. The wantaway winger, who is trying to force through a move to Manchester City, told staff he was too ill to train. The news comes less than 24 hours after it emerged that Sterling has reiterated to Brendan Rodgers his desire to leave and told the manager he doesn't want to be included in the squad for the forthcoming tour of the Far East and Australia. Liverpool declined to comment but normal procedure in these circumstances is that they will send club medical staff around to the player's house to do an assessment. The Reds are braced for a third bid from City for Sterling having rejected an improved offer of £35million rising to £40million three weeks ago. Liverpool value Sterling at £50million and unless City match that price then Anfield officials remain adamant he will be expected to fly with the squad to Bangkok on Sunday. thats form james pearce. I can't wait to see if the catch him with his funny pipe or with someone's missus... that would really crown it. In the end if he's not sick they have proceduraly details in contract to fine him.
I hope he is stuck. I would like to see him sent to u21s for the year and not let near melwood nor given one second of time in any game... that cwould be my personal preference. Is agent has utterly ruined him and any player watching this with any sense (ie' ox chamberalin) should be thinking again about signing up to him. gascoigne has acted more professional than this
That would indeed be interesting, he's certainly burnt a few bridges.. If City don't pay the amount we want, and his attitude doesn't change, then there is every likelihood that'll he'll find him in the u21s.. But I'd be surprised if it gets to that.. it'll drag on, prob. until the last week of the Transfer Window.. they'll get their man, and hopefully, we'll get our money..
we will see. city have promised their fans some players kompany said signings are vital... so far..... all they've done is shift two failures in sinclair and Nastasic. Its now preseason and the tour is days way for them actually tomorrow..... if they let it get to august they will have some unrest. Delph is anything will great angst amongst fans of a mega rich team. hopefully they will splash on us first. On the other hand If i were them though... the way sterling is acting i'd sort of try and let it go another few days and then see what is what. if he goes awol they could bid 40mil again and try it on. ...................... All in all, sterling could do with a phone call form the top here. John henry would want to be on a direct line telling him straight he'll ruin him if he doesn't act like a pro for the next month.
OFFICIAL: Lyon's Nabil Fekir, Anthony Lopes & Corentin Tolisso have all signed new contracts until 2020. no contract for lacazette announced so must be some truth in it. If only we'd bid eh?
I know the Metro are have got it wrong 1 billion times but once in a while the scatter gun approach does work. #hereishoping http://metro.co.uk/2015/07/08/liver...nd-in-transfer-request-to-force-move-5286020/
the problem is psg is where he is likely to go. I would have tried to get him first and then get firmino after
As much as I'd like to see any of the above punishments dished out to the knob Sterling - frozen out completely, U21s for a season, fined, get his ass chewed out by the big boss - I'd still rather we get the 50mill, his wages off the books and his general stink out of the club, he's like a tumour or other unwanted growth
sure... 50mil straight cash would be a huge deal for us. Can't see him ever coming close to that again the way he is carrying on
City will soon realise that they've bought a replica and not the real thing, only difference is we haven't even had to hoodwink them at all
we've already taken in 2/3 replacements as young lads. once stolen out form arsenal... pity we cannot get them to pay the 50mil
Sterling will end up at City and they won't care about all this phoning in sick etc. they need a homegrown with talent - Sterling fits the bill. I think he's just an immature kid who's being given poor advice by his agent who, unless Sterling finds form, is also responsible for ruining his career.
Raheem Sterling: Jamie Carragher fears for Liverpool star's reputation please log in to view this image By Phil McNulty Chief football writer Ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher says Raheem Sterling's reputation is being affected after he asked to be left out of the club's pre-season tour. The forward, 20, does not want to go on the forthcoming trip to the Far East after Liverpool rejected a £40m bid from Manchester City for him. The England international missed training on Wednesday through illness. "He's starting to get a reputation that could be hard to rid himself of in the future," said Carragher. "Are Man City fans looking at the situation and thinking this could be us in a few years?" Raheem Sterling's Premier League statistics Liverpool travel to Bangkok on Sunday then fly on to Australia and Malaysia. Through his request, Sterling - who returned to pre-season training on Monday - has once again made it clear to manager Brendan Rodgers that he wants to leave. He has expressed his desire not to go on the tour in the hope of making a smoother exit from Anfield after an increasingly acrimonious saga in which he has turned down a contract offer of about £100,000 a week. Manchester City have had two offers for him turned down, but are now expected to return with a third bid nearer Liverpool's £50m valuation. Whether it comes soon enough to avoid the latest twist in what has become a very public breakdown in the relationship between club and player remains to be seen. "I think this situation will only make Liverpool more determined to get the fee they feel Raheem is worth, rather than caving in to Raheem's and Man City's wishes," added Carragher. Liverpool have refused to comment on claims Sterling will refuse to travel, but are expected to demand that every player who is fit and available for selection join up on Sunday. please log in to view this image Manquillo made 10 Premier League appearances last season Meanwhile, Spanish defender Javier Manquillo has returned to Atletico Madrid after his two-year loan at Anfield was terminated early by mutual consent. Atletico said the 21-year-old has been recalled because he "has not had all the minutes he and our club consider necessary" for his development. Manquillo made 19 appearances for the Reds last season but did not play for the club after a 1-0 defeat by Besiktas in the Europa League in February. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33440826
Who's Sterling's competition in this do you think, any names spring to mind? Big clubs handle talented players who happen to be difficult, we seem to get shut ... Rodgers sees them as a threat, others [like fergie for example] see them as a challenge
Disappointed Manquillo has been sent back. I don't know what he's done wrong? A young lad who did OK in his very first season in the PL, but then got dropped when our formation change came into force
Who city will be buying if not him? there's a guy form leverkusen they are looking at. (rumoured) after that really the issue is city can pay 200k. when they get there they then have the choice.... do i sit back or do i park the cash and go for medals. I'll predict sterling sits back.
I think personally we may have stopped playing him to get him under the threshold of number of games played to allow us to send him back. That would be as far back as december He got homesick that's one. but after that he was limited enough and he did have a few games where he got found out.
Not sure about the Fergie comparison JB, he sucked up to real world class players like Ronaldo and Cantona but he got shot of Beckham, VN, Stahm, Keane (passed it anyway I know) and a jumped up prick in Morrison. And to be fair to BR, I think he'd have walked on broken glass to keep Suarez but he just wasn't for changing his mind. I think the treatment is dished out to those who will use any tactic to force a move and I'm happy with that approach...
