Unless he gets a big, big score in the 2nd innings, I reckon he's gone full stop. Such a shame.

Good things come to an end eventually. He's come to the end. He plays no role in the side bar the odd catch.

I'm going tomorrow. It had better warm up a bit or else I'll be in the pub all day!!! The Mochyn Du should do a roaring trade.

    oh dear.

    bell's form continues. not shocked

australia get the best of conditions.

one can only hope at this point lunch gives them time to slap themselves to life and then we will have to see whats what after both first innings.

in other words hopefully by the end of day 2 both are over and its close.

He does. It's funny when the whole debate on whether Pietersen should come back was going on people were asking indignantly who should make way.

    Well, duh!!!

    Yup.

    Though that's over now.

    What's a good score in people's view now...300?

400 seems too far away now.

    They won't make 250.

The convicts will no doubt then notch 450+ and they'll win at a canter.

Rain might be Englands best player in this test.

This afternoon session is vital for England to steady the ship..........they would settle for 350 right now I'm sure

Probably right there Tobes. 300 would be a good recovery. It would need 2 to stick

350 would be a good score, more than attainable too. There's no real reason, other than that they bat for England, that Balance and Root should get us to at least 200.

That said, we'll probably lose one of them soon and three or four will follow immediately.

I reckon if the Aussie win this one they'll win the series by at least two tests.

if there were two that have shown steadiness outside of coook in last two/three series its ballance and root at differing times. they can dig.

But if its swinging still then the ausies will eat them up.

really its a question of when is next new ball and how far can you go.
