I didnt join the old 606 long enough to have had much dealings with this Supreme Arkle character Ron but I gather he's been badly missed and brings incredible objectivity to numerous 'high octane' debates....

Was a shame Fast Company got injured, he was electric in the Acomb and on Dewhurst form you have to think he would have been right there with Henry and Ravens Pass in the mile races that season.

Yet the Irish Derby should be downgraded to a G2 from what you where saying when Jack Hobbs won the other day <laugh>
If you actually watch that Derby, it was remarkable that he managed to win, he was pulling Mannings arms out for the first 4 furlongs. And I was pretty much resigned to having lost the monster bet I'd had on him, as I know from playing in running alot that horses never win when they pull like that over middle distances. i could not believe my luck though when he steered his way through the pack, and came storming up the rail. But that was how talented New Approach was, no horse has won the Derby after pulling like that!

Au contraire mon amigo! It was others that were suggesting that last year and it just seemed highly hypocritical they were lauding JH after saying that <ok>

I think it was because only 5 runners showed up last year. A better turn out this year though <ok>

We should get a better race in the KG. Flintshire and Snow Sky are decent horses, whilst I'm hoping Godolphin will pull rank with Gosden and let Jack Hobbs have another crack at him. I don't see the point in them going for an Arc trial race. If they're gonna have one more run before the Arc, then may aswell be in the KG. Your Free Eagle has an entry too, as does the unbeaten Mahsoob so hopefully it'll be a decent field

Now that's what you call winning impressively by only a small margin. Fantastic Light who he beat was no mug either, i remember him lowering Galileos colours over in Ireland
