Former Newcastle defender Ryan Taylor is a target for Queens Park Rangers.
Versatile Taylor, 30, who can operate in both full back positions and in midfield, was told by phone that he was being released by Newcastle after his contract expired last month.

Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Hull and Norwich are also monitoring developments with the free agent.

It was revealed last month that Taylor and Jonas Gutierrez were let go from Newcastle in the same phone call from coach John Carver.

He once had an outstanding half a season, was that about 5 years back.
