I admit to be a little confused here though DTLW - a bid like that, if true, rather blows out of the water the moral stance. But yeah, I know, we have no clue what's going on in reality!

Sitting back and getting fleeced was never the moral route. This is what we should've been doing from the moment it became clear that Atletico didn't give a toss about our threats, and hopefully it's not too late.

If I was Spurs I would at least hold off on announcements....a few days makes no difference if it goes ahead, but I would be wanting my lawyers checking everything. Be like buying a car with outstanding finance on it.

Nothing would happen to Spurs...taking Atletico to court wouldn't get us the player, and Spurs wouldn't be liable in any way. They've no reason to hold off, if they feel they can seal the transfer.

I can imagine Toby in his Spurs medica when suddenly everyones face falls.
"What's up?" Asks Toby
Levy "get off the bed, you're going to ****ing Austria".

I think it's unlikely, but it could save them looking foolish just for the sake of a couple of days.

Of the three parties, Spurs would be the only one to come out of such a situation not looking foolish, in my opinion. They'd get Toby free and clear, and at a pretty reasonable price, while we squabble with Atletico.
