IMO, players not gelling wasn't the issue last year - it was poor management and the quality of players signed.

With Coutinho and Firmino, I really cannot see how or where he Lallana starts.

Will be funny seeing how these two link up with Benteke. Complete mismatch of styles.

We should be spending all this money on signing someone like Reus, who would actually fit in perfectly. Not a lump like Balotelli

On the bench hopefully, he's a waste of space and money

And Markovic doesn't have to perform well this season in order to stay at LFC - he's only 20 and was played out of position. He was bought for the future and I'm confident he will develop and deliver.

Lallana and Lovren are the ones who need to step up - both overrated and overhyped players on the back of brief spells of success.

Again, I cannot see how these two start bar injuries.

He was Brendan's marquee signing last summer and secret lovechild. I'm sure he'll try and fit him into the team, as he will with Milner. <ok>

Milner is more than worthy of our first team.

If we sign a cm like Illaramendi I'd quite like to see this tried:

    Mignolet
    Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno
    Illara Can
    Markovic Coutinho Firmino
    Sturridge

And no leaving Milner out does not contradict my above comment.

If Sterling was to stay (in place of Markovic) our AM trio could rival Chelsea's.

Markovic is a quality player, young and energetic. We should play him sometime in his preferred position.

bodgan appears in lfc shirt so he's no 1 offical today

Milner has been confirmed by city with a thank you so i assume he will appear in red shirt today. only been confirmed a month now!

    Ings will prob too.

Clyne is supposedly to be completed today according to Pearce.

for me the concept that coutinho markovic/sterling and firmino holding a candle to the top AM set ups is wrong. they have potential. they are young.

willian, oscar and hazard mix skill with work rate and are what moutinho wants.

arsenal have ozil snachez and carzorla who are all expereicned senior players and very very good and ably backed up by a couple too.

LFc have a decent team but will not be up to the standards next season as it stands.

we will have improved i feel by a bit. Over all i feel its a decent mix bu one to hang a star cap on right now. coutinho needs more consistency, firmino deeps to adapt and settle in and the others all need to develop. Can needs the chance and to take it at CM.

I will say hand on heart any thought we can swan round without henderson and milner in the team is nuts. we need to front up in this league.

I fear using Milner and Henderson together like that would be like Gerrard and Lampard.

Clyne told the club's website: "I'm delighted and it's a dream move for me to come here and play for such a big club with all of its history. I can't wait to get started. As soon as Liverpool showed their interest in me, I was happy and just wanted the deal to go through.

"The gaffer has shown a lot of interest in me and this is a place where I can improve as a player, I think. It's definitely a good opportunity to come here and try to fulfil my potential.

"I've played at Anfield before and know what the atmosphere is all about. It's a great atmosphere and will make me rise to the challenge. I'm really looking forward to it and hopefully it can push me on to putting on good performances."

    ----

That'll cheer the Southampton fans up <whistle>

That would be a cracking team - although I would start Ilori over Skrtel now. Time we gave him a chance. <ok>

Henderson and Milner - full of energy and running. but not enough quality on the ball to dominate. Both are very good squad options though.

Happy we got Clyne - a good signing and at a good price. Both he and Firmino will bring genuine quality to the first team.
