2.30 Pontefract QIBTEE 10/1 looked to finish with plenty left in the locker at Wetherby recently when finding no room at the in for Havlin. Amateur rider handicap tomorrow so the jockey is always a concern but this horse is capable off this marks and goes off bottom weight.

I don't expect 10/1 to last very long with Bet365 and suspect we might see this go off at somewhere nearer 9/2. (PP already priced up as 6/1)

Afternoon, team. Is everyone in their tennis whites for Wimbledon fortnight?!?

Now then you types let’s not have any silliness re the name of Mr Henderson’s runner in the ‘lucky last’ at Stratford tomorrow. Mods, you may have to keep a close eye on some of the more rowdier elements and those in the ‘cheap seats’.

Anyone seen the entries for later in the week. Cor blimey dear old Bath on Wednesday eve have 40 runners across 7 races! Newbury on Thursday though, at this stage, looks a lovely meet. Some really nice runners might possibly appear, across the county line, in Royal Berkshire. Regular readers...stay tuned!

Just 5, I say 5, left in the Eclipse on Saturday – The Golden Horn, The Grey Gatsby, Cougar Mountain, Western Hymn and Tullius. Will the lovely Em’s ex continue on the 2nd named?!? Has to be more than possible given the fact that old boy Ryan will be on The Cougar should ‘the lads’ allow him to line-up.

I am extremely disappointed with the line-up for Saturday. It looks like the bookmakers knew yesterday that New Bay was going to be withdrawn as they had shortened Golden Horn from 8/11 on Saturday to 8/13 best price and pushed the Prix Du Jockey Club winner out and shortened The Grey Gatsby. Now Golden Horn is 2/5.

The main point of interest in the race now is what tactics anybody is going to employ. If the race is run at a crawl, we know that Golden Horn has the turn of foot so that would play well for him. Given that two of the field are stepping up from a mile, will it be left to Western Hymn to do the donkey work?

The official reason that New Bay is staying at home is that he did not work well. If the plan for him is to head for the Arc, I wonder if he will be given a break and then go to the Prix Niel for a potential showdown with Jack Hobbs.

    Top shout etcetera.

Talking of tennis. I backed Novak as the draw came out. Love Murray and think he's the best grass court player in the world but his draw is a shocker and i don't see how he could reach the final without being mentally drained if he plays Nadal and Federer in the quarter and semi finals. Novak's draw is much kinder and although he's favourite I think he should be evens and he was 7/4 so very happy to back my opinion.

I done my nuts on Novak in the French so am reluctant to back him this time. I agree that Andy's the best grass court player but as u point out he could have a few tough battles to even just get to the final.

Has Stan a chance??? Crikey if he plays like he did in the French Open final he could beat any of them...

Hope Murray wins it, I'm fighting the urge to back him as my tennis bets are the kiss of death <laugh><doh>

Stan probably has a decent chance but i thought the final was played in the Semi this year at Roland Garos. Murray and Novak blew each other apart whilst Wawrinka had a reasonably easy path to the final and picked up the pieces. Also, i didn't like his **** chat about being the only person on the tour who can bully Novak. Sounded like a knob to me.
