This will go down like a **** sandwich on here but I don't see how the Clyne transfer works for any party involved. If there is a winner in the deal then it's Southampton.

As was pointed out on the Saints board, if he really wanted CL then he has shot himself in the foot (unless his next move is abroad), Liverpool are unlikely to sell to a top 6 rival.

Or he just recognises that Man Utd only got CL because we had a poor season ;)

I think you will find that poor start you all go on about was in fact better than ours, after 9 games you were ahead of us <ok>

If you look at the last 6 seasons you finished about where you would normally and we finished a couple of places below where we would normally

Who mentioned the start? I was talking about the season. You know, thirty-eight games ;)

It's sometimes difficult to differentiate the deluded from the outraged on this forum.

Otherwise known as not having a sense of humour <ok>

Clyne clearly felt he'd be wasted his career joining Man Utd since he'd be stuck behind Valencia in the pecking order <whistle>

Perhaps on occasion. I don't think like a Liverpool fan (no one other than Liverpool fans understand what it's like to be a Liverpool fan, it's different to supporting any other club, it can't be explained, it's just different) so sometimes I don't get the famous Scouse humour. Ken Dodd, Stan Boardman. Great wits of our time.

I think that's fair comment about Clyne and credit to you for recognising it. He should edge ahead of Can though as long as Brenda doesn't try to convert him into a left winger.

Liverpool have registered their interest in completing the transfer of Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez this morning.
The Reds are in the market for a new striker and have become aware that the German international is available, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Gomez is keen on a move away from Fiorentina after seeing his playing time limited.
The German striker only managed ten goals last season but has posed a consistent goal threat throughout his career.
He has scored an impressive 166 league goals in 308 appearances throughout his career.
