I disagree. We don't need another defenisive midfielder alongside Wanyama, that would be to cautious, and Clasie and Wijnaldum do their share of defensive work.

Wijnaldum is not defensive minded and Clasie will get forward as well.

Yep, Clasie is not a outright defensive midfielder. Sure he will help defending but he likes to push forward loads.

Wijnaldum did a lot of defensive work behind Sneijder for Holland at the World cup. He's not a defensive midfielder, but more of a box-to-box than an attacking one.

If we are going to play with two midfielders in front of the defense (Morgan and Vic last season), I don't see a problem if one of them is more attacking minded. There always Big Vic to cover the ground. Anyway, hardly anyone plays with two defensive midfielders. Even Mourinho plays with only one out an out defensive midfielder most of the time, Matić, and he's paired with Fabregas, who's far from a great defender. Wenger pairs Coquelin with Cazorla ecc.

Surely its horses for courses, if we at home to say Watford, then Vic alone will surely be enough. Chelsea away then play Vic with Reed or or another defensive minded player , Stephens or McCarthy may be ready to fill this role

English sirens begin to be felt in the market of Angelo Ogbonna . The defender of Juventus , in fact , after the interest of Bologna , it is to record what the Southampton , the English club that , after the last seventh place in the Premier League , has qualified for the next edition of the Europa League . The Saints , after thinking about a loan move , now would be willing to buy the player outright . In particular , from the south of England could go up to ten million Euros . A clear and strong signal : the tip of Southampton decided on Ogbonna , concrete target for the defense of Saints .

Ogbonna has been pretty clownshoes since his move to Juve, I thought he was great at Torino though, and I was completely against the Lovren signing because of how poor he was in the previous 18 months for Lyon, so hopefully if he signs we can get him back to his Torino days.

A quick google and it seems everywhere thinks he is joining West Ham (might also explain why they put his picture up when they signed Obiang, or the rumours have started because they put his picture up I suppose :D)

Also if we have put in a £12m bid for another centre back I would guess that means we have missed out on Alderweireld

Sorry could not post quotes, but from Football - Italia:

Giannelli Imbula's agent (Willy Ndagi) in an interview with calciomercato.com has said " Inter were the first team to make a move for IMBULA as they were determined to sign the player, but right now this is not sufficient. The offer they presented to Marseille is not satisfying, that's why the club is considering other offers. We have been contacted by other clubs, who will make their offers soon.

La parisien report that 2 of the other clubs are Tottenham and Southampton, and have said that IMBULA is leaning towards the offer from Southampton as he feels he will get more Playing Time???

Would be a very Good Signing.

Missing out on Alderweireld and getting Ogbonna in his stead would be a double blow; here's hoping he's just a contingency.
