Went to see the Jam at the Queens Hall Leeds, Got the first Style Council album, didn't think much to it and never went back to him.

You've never heard his solo stuff?

    Seriously?

    Easy Listening? It's really not.

    It's rock.

The Style Council were mostly poor. Most of Weller's solo stuff is outstanding.

I like one or two of their songs, Long Hot Summer, Walls Come Tumbling and the like, but agree that they were, for the most part, poor.

Can't stand it when people don't like a genre of music and therefore state that anyone who produces it is talentless. Kanye is one of the most successful artists of the last decade. He obviously has talent in the eyes of millions of people. And before anyone asks yes I do think that One Direction are talented, their talents are making catchy tunes for a pre-teen female demographic, and it's certainly working. It's fine saying that you don't like a genre of music but calling them talentless is just ridiculous. Although saying that I'm a big Hip-Hop fan and tbh I found Kanye's performance infuriating. It started out so well with his classics but then he moved on to his pretentious bollocks of messing about with autotune. It could have been an incredible set if he'd left all that "artistry" bullshit alone.

Who said anything about hip-hop artists being talentless on here?

A lot of hip-hop is alright.

Stuff like Kanye, and most of the stuff he produces, is ****e though.

Apparently Kanye West is a bigger rock star than Lemmy.

I can appreciate and understand why people do not like Kanye or his music, however I can't take them seriously when they say he isn't talented. It just shows them as completely ignorant and showing a real lack of musical intellect.

I'm not his biggest fan but I thought his performance was brilliant, divisive and arrogant in equal measure, you wouldn't have expected anything less.

Watch the throne is easily one of the best Hip-Hop records from recent years. His older work with songs like Stronger/Heartless/Jesus Walks is all top class stuff too.

I've heard them, and I don't like them at all.

I think the man has a lot to do with it as well. He is a **** with arguably the biggest ego on the planet.

Kanye's music is alright but he's just a massive prick. Obviously, it would have been far better if Foo Fighters were headlining but Florence was good. T in the Park last year was better.

If it had been Foo Fighters last night and Florence on Friday (or vice versa) it would've been so much better.

Foo Fighters will headline next year, I think that's a given.

You're a big Arctic Monkeys fan, aren't you, Will? I thought them and Royal Blood were brilliant last year at T in the Park.

I think I watched that on telly.

Saw them at Finsbury Park about a month earlier, Miles Kane and Royal Blood were there too.

Forgive me but "talent" and "autotune" are mutually exclusive

He's clearly a good producer, but to me certainly not a good musician.
