Rivals in the sense that we are competing in the same league as them, yes. But because we finished close to them once last season does not make them our rivals. I am pretty sure they aren't going to be giving us too much thought next season and most will consider last season as a blip for both us and them. If we finish within say 5/6 points of them regularly, either above or below, then I would start to change my opinion.

Agreed. Tradition used to be something. Today it is nothing. We bow to no club and I wouldn't expect any club to bow to us.

Tradition does mean nothing, but it also means everything. By having the rich tradition it enables you to stay at the top and keep the other clubs down (unless they buy their way to the top like Chelsea/City) because it generates the most money
